WHY DO WE NEED WATER??? Everyone needs water! We

use it to clean equipment, dishes and ourselves. We need to conserve water and not waste it. If we waste water there will not be enough water to go around to all of the crops. Farmers need water for their crops to grow. If the crops do not grow we will not have delicious fruit and veggies to eat for meals! We need our nutrition!!!

Have you ever heard of hidden water? Well if you haven’t I am here to tell you what it is. Hidden water is water that is so far underground that you cannot see it! If you ever went to the beach and dug a hole you found hidden water far under the sand!

The great water cycle!

The water cycle is a continuous cycle. The first step is water vapor

evaporating from the oceans and other bodies of water form the clouds.

After that, the clouds release rain and snow (precipitation) which creates streams, rivers, and glaciers.

Eventually the water flows back into the oceans and the whole process starts over again.

Even the water that seeps into the ground eventually finds its way to the ocean! Along the way it absorbs minerals.

Ways to conserve water We need to conserve

water because we need to survive as humans. If we waste (or don’t conserve water) we might not have clean water or enough water to go around for everyone.

Here are some easy ways to conserve water.

When washing dirty laundry put in a full load instead of washing a half load.

Another easy way to save water is turning off your faucet when you are brushing your teeth. Think about it, do you really need to let the water run?

A third way to conserve water is when washing dishes in a dishwasher. Fill it all the way with dishes instead of half way full.
