The ELCA has a prayer book for military members, with prayers for crisis, grieving compan-
ions, life circumstances during deployment, returning veterans and more. The last such book
was provided during World War II by the United Lutheran Church in America.
This new book offers support to those in uniform, military families, veterans and others. This
prayer book draws from resources found in our Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal as well
as those from the ELCA’s full communion partner churches.
We will be collecting money for these prayer books during the month of October. Each book
cost $8.00. Please mark you donations “Armed Forces Prayer Book” and leave in the offering
plate or mail to the church office. At the end of October our donation will be mailed to the
Federal Chaplaincy Ministries in Washington, D.C. and they will purchase these prayer books
to be distributed on Memorial Day to members of our military. In two years of giving we have
purchases 200 prayer books. We have placed a prayer book on display in the lobby.
Thank you,

Call to Worship
The call to worship is
signaled by the ringing of
the bells 7 times. Please
be seated and be quiet so every-

to announce the beginning of the
service.
Be silent & be still
in the presence of the Lord
We are very sad to announce that
longtime member Rosemary
Voges has passed away. Her fu-
neral service was held at St.
