Headline: MEET OUR 2014 ANNPOWER FELLOWS

Body Copy: The ANNpower Vital Voices Initiative is a groundbreaking partnership between ANN INC. (our parent company) and Vital Voices. ANNpower is a girls’ leadership training program for high school sophomores and juniors who want to make an impact in their communities and around the world. We’re so pleased to introduce you to three of our Fellows from 2014: Elanie, Rebecca, and Alexandra!

Do you know a girl who wants to change the world? Do these women remind you of yourself or someone you know? Apply now through March 8 to be a 2015 ANNpower Fellow at ANNPOWER.ORG.

Elanie: Elanie, currently a junior in high school in NYC, is educating young women in her community about sexual health. For her ANNpower Project, she’s creating a series of health workshops and an online discussion space for young women.

Alexandra: Alexandra is a junior in Westchester County, NY — she’s passionate about strengthen family ties and inspire a love of reading. Her project will increase youth literacy and facilitate connections between incarcerated mothers at Bedford Hills Women’s Correctional Facility and their children by delivering books and technology for mothers to record themselves reading these stories aloud.

Rebecca: Rebecca is a junior in Long Island, New York. For her ANNpower Project, “Art For Awareness: Painting Heals Campaign,” Rebecca will engage students and victims of domestic violence to create a public mural in Long Island. The goal of this piece of public art is to raise awareness about domestic violence.
