I will look through your husband's chart soon as I have just started on a new job and theworking hours are pretty long.

Yes, it should happen during Mars Mahadassa or Antar-Dasa. I usally take theVimshottari Dasa based on the Ascendant rather than the Moon though both should work

fine although taking from the Ascendant is slightly more accurate as it consideres all the

factors in chart in a non-partisan manner. Taking from the Moon will tend to highlightthe beneficial events more than the non-beneficial ones because of Moon's relation to

mundane affairs and fortune. Also the Moon tend to be highly sensitive to the

environment where it is placed in a chart (like a person's mind - if it happens to dwell on

certain things, it is very difficult for the person to be weaned away from the thoughts), sothe planets conjuncting it have a lot of say which may not provide an accurate picture of

other areas in the chart.

N.B. If you want take the dasa from the Ascendant, unless your software provides theoption for taking the dasa from the Ascendant, what you need to do if you want to take

the dasa from the ascendant you should have two separate charts of yourself. One yournatal chart where all the planetary positions are. The other you cast a chart until your

natal position Moon sits right on top of your Ascendnat. This second chart is the one you

refer to when consulting the dasa and mahadasa periods.

Once Mars dasa and antardasa period is operating, then decide the year in question. Your

8th to Mars point is your 12th house. So since you are born in 1947 then the most potent

effect PROVIDED when Mars Mahadasa or Anta Dasa is operating is :

Jun 5 1961 to Jun 4 1962 PERIOD 1Jun 5 1973 to Jun 4 1974 PERIOD 2Jun 5 1985 to Jun 4 1986 PERIOD 3

Jun 5 1997 to Jun 4 1998 PERIOD 4 etc.

Cast the annual chart on the day when you are born for that period in question and

analyse the annual chart house by house. Each house represents the month for that

period. So for the twelfth house, it should occur just one month before your next

birthday.

FOR EXAMPLE

If your Mars mahadasa or antardasa is operating in period 4, it would have the most

potent effect during the monthly period from

May 4 1998 to Jun 3 1998

just one month before your next birthday.

Then during that month if the following happens, all the more certain the eriod or event is

going to happen :

(1) Your Lagnesha reaches the natal position of the planet ruling your 12th house or in a

position triangular to it.

(2) The planet ruling your 12th houses reaches the position of your Lagnesha or in a

position triangular to it.

(3) Your Lagnesha and the planet ruling your 12th house associate or aspect each other

in transit.

(4) The karaka for the event joins or occupies a triangular position from the radical ortransit position occupied by your Lagnesha or Moon sign in your birth chart. In this case

the karaka for the event is Mars.

(5) Lagnesha transits through the concerned house as reckoned from the ascendant or theMoon. This would be the 8th house to Lagna or the 8th house from the Moon. (This isnot the same as your 12th house which has already been covered above).

(6) The planet ruling your 12th house, Lagnesha or the Karaka for the event (Mars)

reaches the position of your 12th house or in a position triangular to it.

(7) The planet ruling your 12th house, Lagnesha or the Karaka for the event (Mars)

reaches the position of the ruler of your 12th house (which is also Mars) or in a positiontriangular to it.

(8) The owner of the 12

th

house (Mars) tranisiting over your Ascendant and over yourLagnesha.

(9) Jupiter transits through a position triangular to the one occupied by the owner of the

12th house (Mars) in the birth or navamsha chart.

(10) Favourable results will be experienced in a period when the Sun or Jupiter transits

through the mooltrikona, exaltation, friendly or own sign of the period planet. But sincewe are talking about an unfavourable event, this rule does not applies.

(11) The Moon will give good results in a period with respect to the house it is travellingthrough if the house contains a sign belonging to the period planet or one that is friendly

to the period planet, its sign of mooltrikona or exaltation. Again this does not apply as

we are talking about an unfavourable event.

(12) The Moon will give good results when it is traveling through the position where

Mars is ie. through the house where the period planet occupies. Again this is not

applicable for the event we are talking about.

(13) Moon will also give favourable results when it travels through III, V, VI, VII IX, X

or XI house from the period planet ie. your Mars which is your 7th house, 9th house, 10th

house, 11th house, 1st house and the 2nd house. Again this is talking about a favourableevent.

(10), (11), (12) and (13) we can however interpret them as ameliorating the destructiveevent in your case eg. salvaging the situation or warding off the impending doom which

is what you are asking after all. So warding off the bad effects during these three periods

would be more effective and stronger.

Mars (the karaka for the event) rules the following band of years and so if the above all

happened when you are at the bracket age range, then the probability of that occurring

would then be heightened considerably.
