9:00 WoRKsHoP 1 – Hot Tapping of running Pipeline For rerouting/ modifi cation
Hot tapping and stopling is a technique which facilitates changes or modifi cations in a Pipeline system without shutting down operation.
Replacing an existing Pipeline while the pipeline is under operation.
Hot tapping process generally used here shutting down a particular pipeline might disrupt services for a large area or create outage that could endanger public safety. The process of hot tapping and plugging of the pipeline temporarily by diverting the fl ow of the liquid to allow the workmen allow the men to safely perform repairs/modifi cation such as installation of valves, meters etc.
