YOU’RE INVITEDOn behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our pleasure to invite you to attend the first Midsouth Annual Meeting of Interventional Pain Physicians for the state societies of Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. This 2.5 day course is designated for 17 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™

TARGET AUDIENCE This course is intended to present interventional pain management specialists, nurses, and other healthcare providers an in-depth review of multiple areas of controlled substance management, coding, compliance, practice management, state, legal, and practice issues.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES l Identify and discuss current concepts of opioid therapy, including regulations, abuse, alternative paths, and documentation l Identify and discuss the Controlled Substance Act through the perspective of the DEA l Consider the issues facing IPM from a national, state, and local perspective l Review the many aspects of billing and coding for IPM, including the use of modifiers, compliance, documentation, denials and appeals, and audits l Discuss advances in neuromodulation l Identify and discuss the role of diet and nutrition in controlling chronic pain
