The first joint meeting for the Rota year 14-15. Members from Rotary Club of Serampore were also present.

The meeting was concluded by the members strengthening their bonds by tying Friendship bands, followed by a photo session.

LA ENSAMBLAJE - THE CLUB ASSEMBLY

The club members were introduced to the working and functioning of Rotary International and Rotaract and how to run the club smoothly.

As our guest speaker we had Rotarian Bidhu Bhusan Verma along with Rotarian Rajendranath Banerjee and DRR Rtr Mainak Bhattacharya

HOSTING Rtr. ROSHAN NAVEEN

We hosted Rtr. Roshan Naveen, the RILM representative from Bangalore who reached Kolkata via cycle on 4th September. Our representatives went and received him from the RILM Office at Kolkata and took him to places like RC Ballygunge meeting, RC Calcutta Mahanagar meeting and we arranged for his fooding and lodging.

TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATIONDate:-5th September, 2014. Venue:- 2no. Primary School, Nabagram.Members Present:- 05.Chair:- Rtr. Dipanjan Ganguly.

Teachers Day was celebrated with the under privileged students. Exercise books, bags and various stationary items were distributed.

Rtr. Roshan Naveen, the RILM representative from Bangalore was present and delivered his inspiring speech to the students.

Ghete Gho is a debate competition between the sister clubs of RC Rishra and RC Uttarpara

Members had a nice time debating their points on the topic: Internet Should have Censorship.

RAINBOWDate:- 15th September, 2015. Venue:- Gyan Manch, Kolkata.Members Present:- 08.

It was a district event where Rotaract District 3291 gave an essential platform to underprivileged and differently abled children and youth to exhibit their genius. This was our effort to support talent and strengthen the belief that there is a winner in every one of us - it’s only an opportunity that’s delaying its discovery.

 

BHO KATTADate:- 17th September, 2014. Venue:- Ghoramara Ashram, Serampore.Members Present:- 06.Chair:- Rtr. Kishan Sikaria.

The inmates of the Ashram were mostly the lesser privileged children of the society and our aim was to put a smile on their face. We carried kites, latai wheels and sweets with us. Kites were flown with the children at the adjacent playground and at the end of the event sweets were distributed to end it on a sweeter note.

Kai Po Che is a club service event, where the members of our club alongwith Rtr. Sohomjit from RC Uttarpara flew kites together at Regent Ganga Housing Complex. It was a fun filled event for the members and they enjoyed it thoroughly

Shaarod Alankar is a PR cum Club Service event done jointly with Rotary Club of Serampore and Rotaract Club of Uttarpara.

The top 15 Durga Puja pandals were awarded in different categories by the judging team.

Rotaract Durga puja awardsDate:- 30th September, 2014. Members Present:- 18.Venue:- Kolkata.

The Rotaract District 3291 salutes the master craftsmen for their creative brilliance and by organizing ‘Rotaract Pujo Awards’ to award their excellence in various aspects. Rotaract Club of Rishra was one of the Host Club of Rotaract Puja awards. Rotaractors from the club judged the puja pandals and participated in numbers to award the puja pandals with the Parikrama team in Kolkata.

PUJO MEET

Date:- 6th October, 2014. Venue:- CC2, Rajarhat.Members Present:- 06. Chair:- Rtr. Vishal Roy.

It was a Club service event, where the members met at City Centre 2 for a post puja get together. It was fun dining together at Gamma’s world cuisine and spending the time together

JOINT MEETING WITH TWIN CLUB

Rotaract Club of Rishra and Rotaract Club of Dalhousie Orbit became the Twin Club. The first Twin Club joint meeting was held on 18th October, 2014 at Sreemani Bari, Kolkata.

It was attended by the DRR, DS and members from both the clubs. Twin club agreement was signed and twin projects for the future were discussed

LIGHT UP LIVESDate:- 23rd October, 2014. Venue:- Ghoramara Ashram, Serampore.Members Present:- 05.Chair:- Rtr. Shuvradeep Ray.

Light Up Lives is the RC Rishra’s sunshine project of celebrating Diwali with the lesser privileged children of the society.

There we also distributed notebooks, pencil boxes, writing materials and other stationary objects

JOINT MEETING WITH RCCNEDate:- 8th November, 2014. Venue:- Sreemani Bari, Kolkata.Members Present:- 05.Chair:- Rtr. Subhayan Datta.

A joint meeting with Rotaract Club of Calcutta North East was held on 8th November, 2014 where various joint projects and community service projects which would be done in the future were discussed in details. There was also proposal for joint club service in future.

CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATIONDate:- 17th November, 2014. Venue:- Uttarpara.Members Present:- 02.Chair:- Rtr. Vishal Roy.

Members of Rotaract Club of Rishra along with Rotary Club of Serampore and Rotaract Club of Uttarpara, celebrated Children’s Day with the slum children at Uttarpara . Food packets were distributed to the slum children on the occasion.

Z3 Zonal Sports MeetDate:- 16th November,2014. Venue:- Uttarpara Olympic Ground.Members Present:- 04.ZRR:- PP Rtr. Subhajit Paik.

‘Sportstar’ was a zonal event where Rotaract Club of Rishra was one of the host club.

It was a Sports meet for the under privileged children of the society. Food packets were provided to all the participants and the winners were awarded.

 SHAAROD ALANKAR NIGHT

Date:- 16th November,2014. Venue:- College Auditorium, Uttarpara. Members Present:- 04.Chair:- Rtn. Partha Mukherjee.Co- chair:- Rtr. Vishal Roy; Rtr. Sandip Sarkar.

Shaarod Alankar Night was a cultural evening with the participants of Shaarod Alankar. Events like Recitation, Aantakshari etc were held. Certificates and food packets were given to the participants.

Hosting IDYE TEAM FROM RID 3292

Date:- 26th November, 2014. Venue:- Uttarpara, Belur, Dakhineswar, Hindmotor Rotary VenueMembers Present:- 06.

RC Rishra hosted the IDYE team from Nepal, RID 3292.In this visit Rotaract Club of Damauli and Rotaract Club of Rishra formed international twins

RC Rishra took them to places like Belurmath, Dakhineswar and to their parent Rotary’s Meeting. The arrangements of fooding and lodging were made by the club itself.

DONATION OF STATIONERY ITEMSDate:- 26th November, 2014.Venue:Members Present:- 05.Chair:- Rtr.Vishal Roy.

A joint event was organized with the IDYE team which we hosted, at Destitute Home, Uttarpara. RC Rishra along with RC Damauli, RC Biratnagar and RC Uttarpara donated stationery items to the needy inmates of the Destitute Home and spent quality time with them.

A Quarterly project of RC Rishra where old newspapers are collected and donated to the thongawalas who runs their family selling thongas in the market.Till Date they have donated around 150kgs of old newspapers.

HOSTING IDYE TEAM FROM RID 3201

Date:- 24th December, 2014. Venue:- Uttarpara, Belur, Dakhineswar, Hindmotor Rotary Venue.Members Present:- 06.

RC Rishra hosted the IDYE Team from Coimbatore, RID 3201.The guests were taken by RC Rishra to places like Belurmath, Dakhineswar and to their parent Rotary’s Meeting. It was another fun time spending with the guest Rotaractors. The fooding and lodging of the guests were arranged by us.

AMUZANT - THE DISTRICT PICNIC

The event was jointly organized by Rotaract Club of Rishra, Rotaract Club of Dalhousie Orbit and Rotaract Club of Sun City.

There were fun, music, dance and games like badminton and housie. Breakfast, lunch and evening snacks were served. Dj night and bonfire added to the entertainment quotient.

CHARTER NIGHT CELEBRATION

Rotaract Club of Rishra was chartered on 3rd January but we celebrated our 23rd charter night with our Twin club, Rotaract Club of Dalhousie Orbit on 4th January,2015 at Bharat Scouts and Guide Centre, Ganganagar. There were joint Cake cutting followed by releasing of fanush.

We celebrated the Republic Day by hoisting Flag at the school compound, followed by the National Anthem. Then biscuits and toffees were distributed among the students with special gifts for the meritorious students and the regular attendee, to encourage them for coming to school regularly.

MALANG- A MEALANGE OF CELEBRATIONS

RC Rishra hosted and participated in Malang- the 43rd District Conference, was the first open stage conference and was fun and entertaining.

Wonderful ambience, lip smacking delicacies and rocking performance by Underground Authority made it even more memorable. Our members also won laurels for the club from various events.

 HOSTING IDYE TEAM FROM RID

3140Date:- 27th February, 2015. Venue:- Uttarpara, Belur Math, Dakhineswar and Abakash.Members Present:- 03.

RC Rishra along with their sister club RC Uttarpara hosted the IDYE team from Mumbai, RID 3140. The clubs received them and then they were taken to the guest house where their lodging was arranged. The guests were then taken to places like Dakhineswar, with a boat-vessel ride to Belurmath and then to Abokash an old age home where they spent pleasant time with the inmates there.

As a part of our World Rotaract Week Celebration we had four projects-

We sponsored the lunch and spend time with the inmates. It was a wonderful experience being with the people who were once well settled in the society and contributed to the development, but now their family doesn’t have time for them.

PD session followed the joint meeting and it was conducted by Rtn. Krishanu on the topic Interior designing and decoration. It was a very informative and interactive PD session.

A musical competition done jointly with Rotaract Club of Calcutta North East at Sobhabazar Natmandir. It had aantakshari, dumb charade, quizzes, dance and lot more rounds that was well appreciated by the audience and was successful in terms of participation cheers from the audience.

After a devastating Earthquake struck the major parts of Nepal, our club decided to help them by giving them a financial support. We collected a net amount of Rs.15000 with the help of our relatives, friends and acquaintances.

Keventer Fresh of Barasat manufactures products like Mango Frooti, Appy Fizz, Yippee Noodles, Bailey Mineral water, Metro Milk and other dairy products. In this educational visit we witnessed some of the mind blowing facts. We were also offered Frooti and Appy Fizz.
