INTRODUCTION:
The Trust was established in the year 1992 with the intention of helping the
society in the fields of education, medicine and the development of the individual .The
trust is running a school to impart quality education at low cost to the rural poor children
of the village called Mangadu ,and a Computer Centre, to provide high education
,specially Computer Education to the poor and needy persons. The Trust is arranging
medical camps to help the people who need medical care .It arranges rallies to educate the
public against the use of plastics ,burning wastes ,breaking coconut and pumpkins on the
roads etc. The public are educated about the rain water harvest, vermicomposing,
environment safety and tree plantation and various other women developmental activities
like self employment, women counselling centres etc.
It is a great opportunity for INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST to put forth the
Annual Report for the year 2018-19
During this reporting period 2018-2019 our Organization was supported through
Members’ contribution, Volunteers collections, Business firms donations in kind/Cash and
General public donations.
ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY
TRUST
The following Activities were carried out by our organization during this reporting
period 2018 – 2019.
I. POOVAI LITERARY ASSOCIATION:
The Indira Arumugam Charity Trust along with Poovai Literary Association
conducted a programme on Moral Value by holding Debate among children on
13.07.2018 at PSBB Mat. Hr. Sec School, Mangadu

II. AIDS/HIV AWARNESS PROGRAMME:
Meme competition to create awareness on HIV/AIDS was organized by INDIRA
ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST on 1st December 01.12.2018 at Moulivakkam.

III. FIRST AID PROGRAMME
First Aid Programme conducted by INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST
on 15.09.2018 at Poonthamallee
First aid kits are a must have for every home. First aid kits are necessary so that you
can treat ailments and injuries that happen at home. From the minor ailment to the more
serious injury a first aid kit can help reduce the risk of infection or the severity of the
injury.

IV. EDUCATION PROGRAMME:
Programme arranged by INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST at Anna
Centenary library, Guindy on 06.11.2018. Promoting reading habit among Children. 75
children benefited from this programme.

V. ENVIRONMENTAL RALLY:
Plastic awareness programme in Mangadu Village conducted by INDIRA
ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST on 15.10.2018. Pledge was taken along with local
Body as per the instructions of Kancheepuram Collector. 300 students and 54 general
public participated and took the pledge.

VI. EYE CAMP:
Eye awareness programme conducted by Indira Arumugam Charity Trust and
Rotary cub of chennai gateway with Sri Ramchandra Hospital and district vision loss
prevention association on 18.04.2018 at Mangadu village. 300 persons were screened and
25 needed further treatment. The hospital authorities will take care of them At the end of
the screening awareness talk also arranged.

VII. ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS PROGRAMME
Road safety measures organized by INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST
at MOULIVAKKAM Village on 20.12.2018. 150 students and 30 local people
participated in this programme.

VIII. INTERACT CLUB
INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST and Interact club member arranged a
visit to Hand in Hand with NGO to see Good out of waste and Vermi composing process
on 12.08.2018 at Poonamallee.
Vermicompost is the product of the decompositing process using various species
of worms, usually red wigglers, white worms, and other earthworms, to create a mixture
of decomposing vegetable or food waste, bedding materials, and vermicast.
Vermicast (also called worm castings, worm humus, worm manure, or worm feces) is the
end-product of the breakdown of organic matter by earthworms. These castings have been
shown to contain reduced levels of contaminants and a higher saturation of nutrients than
the organic materials before vermicomposing.
Vermicompost contains water-soluble nutrients and is an excellent, nutrient-rich organic
fertilizer and soil conditioner. It is used in farming and small scale sustainable, organic
farming.

IX. SCIENCE KNOWLEDGE PROGRAMME
INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST arranged ISRO PROGRAMME
ON 17.08.2018 for the second time. Space awareness programme for school
children at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, - ISRO Space centre at Sriharikota.
ISRO has conducted robotic missions to other worlds in our solar system. In
2008, the agency sent the Chandrayaan-1 orbiter to the moon. The probe, whose
name means "moon craft" in ancient Sanskrit, was about the size of a
refrigerator and helped discover evidence of water molecules on the moon. Five
years later, ISRO flew the Mars Orbiter Mission, nicknamed Mangalyaan or
"Mars craft," to the Red Planet.

X. SOCIAL AWARNESS PROGRAMME:
Indira Arumugam Charity Trust arranged Children participate in an awareness rally
on World Day against Child Labour, in Chennai on June 12, 2018.
Child labour is a term you might have heard about in news or movies. It refers
to a crime where children are forced to work from a very early age. It is like expecting
kids to perform responsibilities like working and fending for themselves. There are
certain policies which have put restrictions and limitations on children working.

XII. TREE PLANTION
Tree Plantation by the by INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST and
school students for the general public and issued Sapling on 05.09.2018 at
Munram kattalai village 500 saplings were distributed during this programme to
the general public.

XIII. WOMENS EMPOWERMENT AND SELF EMPLOYMENT TRAINING:
Tailoring class conducted by INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST on
21.07.2018at Mangadu village. This is six month course for village Women. After
completed six months, Trust has issued course completion certificate to women

XIV. EMBROIDERY TRAINING:
Embroidery training class was conducted by INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY
TRUST for Village Women’s in Mangadu on 05.02.2019. 25 women benefited
from this programme

Yoga programme arranged by INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST on
15.11.2018 at Padma Subramaniam Matric Higher Secondary school , Mangadu village
for Ladies and School Students.

XVI. OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Programme arranged by INDIRA ARUMUGAM CHARITY TRUST for Worship
of nature on 12.10.2018 at Mangadu Village –Thulasi Vandhanam.
We need to protect our mother earth or else one day there will be nothing expects
the destroyed earth where none can live. The development phase is letting out Mother
Nature to be destroyed. The development will increase the pollution in turn the pollution
will increase the global warming and this lead to destruction of the mother nature.
