International Yoga Day Celebration
21st June has been announcedas International Yoga Day byUN. MET’s Bhujbal KnowledgeCity organized a workshop on“Yoga for Soul” on theoccasion of International YogaDay. National Service SchemeUnit of Engineering &Pharmacy organized thisfunction. Students & staffmembers of the MET- BKCcampus participated in hugenumber. Yogacharya Prof.Nitin Sonawane & Prof.Madhuri Pawar facilitatedsession by demonstratingvarious Asanas. Trainersexplain benefits of doing Yogaon regular basis. More than300 staff and studentsparticipated in the event.
“Sanitation Drive” at Gaulane Village
Gaulane village is one of the adopted villages ofMET-BKC SEVA. Gaulane is backward village inNashik block having population of around 2580. Thevillage School had no proper toilet facility. Opendefecation was observed among students. Thiscaused health issues among them. To improve thesituation, MET BKC SEVA took lead in providing 10school toilets as pilot project in the village with thehelp of CEAT Company & constructed beautifultoilet blocks in school. This led to improve theirhealth. Students are happy and regularly using thetoilets.
“Vanmahotsav”- 2017 at MET BKC Campus
Vanmahotsav- 2017 program announcedby Maharashtra Govt. to sustainenvironment through a mass level treeplantation. Govt. of Maharashtra aimed toplant 4cr. Trees on this day & calledNGOs, Schools, Colleges, Corporate &other institutions to participate in theprogram. Accordingly, Institute ofPharmacy, Institute ofEngineering, Institute ofPolytechnic, Institute of Architecture &Institute of Management of MET-BKCparticipated in the program on 1st July to5th July 2017. More than 700 saplings wereplanted in MET-BKC Campus &surrounding. Pharmacy & Engineeringstudents adopted 02 plants each forplanting, nurturing and taking care ofplants for its growth. Principal Dr. VijayWani & Principal Dr. Sanjay Kshirsagarmotivated the students present on thisoccasion.
“Kargil Vijay Diwas”- The Inspirational Story by Retd. Col. Pradeep Sharma
18th Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated with enthusiasmin the MET’S Institute of Pharmacy. Retd.Col. PradeepSharma enlightened and motivated the students withhis experiences during his service in Infantry Regimen.A Guest lecture on the topic of War Stories wasorganized by the Social welfare Cell of MET IOP on 26thJuly 2017. Principal Dr. Sanjay Kshirsagar welcomed theguest and delivered the Key note address which wasfollowed by paying the homage to the soldiers. Col.Sharma explained different armed forces and theirworking structure; he also motivated the students tojoin army and the advantages of being a part of it. Col.Sharma went on to narrate his own experiences whilehe was on Kargil operation and his battle withterrorists which was very exciting part of the session.Students as well as staff members of the instituteoverwhelmingly liked the session and asked manyquestions on his personal opinions on various issues andhis experiences during his service.
Thoughts by National Hero- Freedom Fighter Hon. Vasant Hudalikar
Social Welfare Cell of the Institute had organized a guest lecture of Hon. Vasant Hudalikar on 31st
Aug.2017. He is one of the freedom fighters of Nashik, in order to sensitize the students for socialissues and create the awareness for the social responsibility amongst the students, Mr. Hudalikarexplained the importance of freedom and role of today’s youngsters in the society. The objective ofthe session was to sensitize the first year students in their early days to the institute on varioussocial issues and to motivate them for social contribution.
Green Revolution-Ganesh idol Sankalan
Ganesh Utsav is the largest festival in Maharashtra & otherstate. People use to go for idol Visarjan on the last day ofthe festival, which led to water pollution due to plaster ofparis & chemical color. To avoid water pollution duringGanesh Visarjan on Tuesday 5th September 2017, MET-BKCNSS (Institute of Engineering & Pharmacy) initiated in Ganeshidol Sanklan Program. The idol collection centre was setnearby Chopda Lawns, Gharpure Ghat & Dasak Ghat ofGodavari River. Approximately 1400 idols in Three Truckswere collected & handed over to Municipal Corporation. NSSStudents helped as volunteers to collect idols. Local childrenwho used to pollute river by immersion of idols in the riverwere also inspired from the activity and joined us for themission. The event was coordinated by the Volunteers of theN.S.S. under the guidance of Pro. Kishor Chobe and Dr. PavanUdavant.
“Swachha Bharat Abhiyan”
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Student volunteers ofSocial Welfare Cell of MET’s Institute of Pharmacy, BhujbalKnowledge City celebrated as Swachha Bharat Abhiyan bycleaning the premises of Vatsalya Old Age Home on 02ndOctober 2017. Students collected garbage lying in thepremises & dispose it in proper way. Students alsodiscussed with the old age home people about maintainingcleanliness of the premises. Students also presented streetplays in front of the old age people of the organization. Atthe end of the program all the delegates were grateful tothe Institute & students for this event.
“Arpan Program” at Old age home
Student volunteers of Social Welfare Cell of MET’S Institute ofPharmacy, Bhujbal Knowledge City celebrated the festival oflight in unique way this year. on 09th October 2017 Studentscleaned the premises of Vatsalya Old age home, Nashik andorganized a Health Checkup camp for the elders with the helpof Dr. Kasaliwal and Dr. Agrawal. Social welfare cell providedall the medicines prescribed by the doctors free of cost andMore than 46 elders of old age home were given Diwalisweets.In another activity Shoes and Diwali sweets were gifted to the65 tribal students of primary ZP school located at VinchurGawali village on 14th October 2017. There was greatsatisfaction and happiness on the faces of tribal students.They expressed grateful thanks to MET-BKC Institute ofPharmacy for this noble work.
Blood Donation & Cancer Check up Camp in “Arpan Week”
Arpan Week celebrates to involve staff & student insocial initiative organized by Institute of Engineering& MET BKC SEVA. Part of this week Cancer Check upCamp & Blood donation camp was organized for staff& Students. NAMCO Hospital was specialist agencyfor Cancer Check up & Nashik Blood Bank for BloodDonation. 102 Bags Blood collected under blooddonation Camp on 09th October 2017.The ladies staff from MET BKC participated in Cancercheck up camp on 12th October 2017. Total 80 womenstaff checked their Pap smear test and breast cancercheck up under this camp and Dr. Shraddha Valwekarand Dr. Suchita Shinde guided about all types ofcancers in women, women gynaecological issues,hormonal imbalances in female body, she also guidedabout the preventive measures and simple techniquesthat can be carried out at home for detecting earlysigns/symptoms of the disease. Ladies staffappreciated the event and volunteers. Overallfeedback about the event was excellent and verygood.
NSS Camp at Vinchur Gawali village
NSS unit of MET’S Institute of Pharmacy organized aseven day residential winter camp as per theguidelines of the SPPU during Sunday 07th January2018 to Saturday 13th January 2018. The camp wasinaugurated by the hands of Ex Sarpanch of the villageHon. Mr. Madhukar Pekhale . 25 NSS volunteers fromthe college participated in this camp at OdhaVillage, Nashik. There are many activities conductedduring the camp like Cleanliness drive atvillage, Market Yard & Govt. VeterinaryClinic, Reconstruction and repair of Streets andRoads, Repair of ZP School ground, DisasterManagement workshop and seminar on LPGSafety, Seminar on Women's Health by CosmetologistDr. Shraddha Sonis Thallasemia sickle cell anemiacheckup for women's and children's of thevillage, Seminar on the use of Generic Medicines byProf. Vaibhav Buchake and organized Seminar onEntrepreneurship development by Dr. ShahajiDeshmukh.The camp was fruitful and learning experience for thevolunteers.
Installation of Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine at Odha Village
12th January, the birth anniversary of Hon.Swami Vivekanand i.e. Yuwa Din was celebratedat Odha village with various activities like BloodDonation Camp, Organ Donation awareness rallyand Installation of the Sanitary Napkin VendingMachine. The sanitary napkin Vending Machinewas installed at the Primary Health Center ofthe village and was unveiled by the hands ofgirl volunteers from the college in presence ofsarpanch of the Village Hon. VishnuPekhale, Deputy sarpanch Mrs. ManishaChordiya, Principal Dr. Sanjay J. Kshirsagar, NSSProgram Officer Dr. Pavan Udavant Over 100students from the college participated in theorgan donation awareness rally which wasappreciated by the villagers, students primaryschool of the village joined this rally, NSSVolunteers went out to circulate the organdonation cards amongst the villagers. Inanother activity the 25 NSS Volunteers donatedblood on this occasion of Yuwa Din.
Blood Donation Camp in MET-BKC Campus
Blood Donation Camp wasorganized for all employees &staff of MET-BKC. Nashik BloodBank, Engineering NSS studentand MET BKC SEVA host theprogram. The program wasconducted on 12th Jan. 2018.The programme was inauguratedin the presence of MLA andTrustee of MET-BKC Hon. Mr.Pankaj Bhujbal, chairperson ofthe program, Dr. AnirudhaDharmadhikari, Dr. Page & Otherdignitaries. It was a proudmoment to donate more than 96blood bags, showed a socialheart of MET-BKC Students &staff.
NSS Camp at Gaulane village
Engineering department organized a campat Gaulane village as a part of NSS activityof S.P. Pune University. 84 studentsparticipated in the camp. Various activitiessuch as “Vote for better India” awarenessprogram, Skill developmentactivities, village cleaning, Drainagecleaning and awareness program wereundertaken during the period of 23rd Jan.to 29th Jan. 2018 for NSS camp. Studentstook active participation in cleaningGaulane Grampanchayat area and riverside area. The road cleaning activity wasalso undertaken by the students.During this seven days camp all the aboveactivities were conducted and in additionto this students conducted various socialactivities and sessions. At the concludingfunction, villagers expressed satisfactionand happiness towards the activitiesundertaken by Prof. Kishor Chobe, otherstaff and students in NSS camp.
Celebrated the International Women’s Day 2018
On the Occasion of InternationalWomen’s Day 2018 Principal Dr. SanjayKshirsagar(Institute of Pharmacy)addressed women participant &motivate them. He also expressed hisviews about women empowerment &how women are contributing innational development. Various Icebreaking games were conducted withthe participant & the lady facultieswere felicitated by the organizer.Some of the members shared theirexperiences & motivational stories infront of others. At the end programwas organized cake cutting ceremony.
“Saksham Bharat Programme” at Kavaddara Village
Saksham Bharat Program was organized by Instituteof Engineering at Kavaddara village in IgatpuriBlock on 16th Feb. 2018 under the guidance of Dr.Vijaykumar Wani ( Principal IOE) and Dr. MadanKharat(HOD). On this occasion Hon. Dr. ShefaliBhujbal shared information about socialcontribution of MET BKC SEVA. The program wasaimed to provide School Material & Sport Materialto underprivileged tribal students in village. 236students of Madhukar Pichad Aashram school weregiven Educational Kits & Sports material weredistributed to Aashram School for educationalupiftment & sports promotion.Educational Kit & Sports material were donated tothe Aashram school, also Principal and Teachers ofthe school expressed their gratitude for this noblecause. Students were excited to get schooleducational & sports kit. They enjoyed a lot in thisprogram. After the program, Tree Plantation drivewas conducted. More than 25 saplings were plantedin Aashram School premises area.
