SAMPLE OF STUDENTS CREATIVE WORK DONE IN THE MS
WORD
Balamela:-
This is the event what all the school students and teachers love to do in their
school campus. To organize this kind of Mela AIFT will give an idea to
exhibit the student’s talents in their own style. To demonstrate their talents,
students will utilize the computers in a very innovative way. “Balamela
means Academic Fair organized by the students and for the students”.
In this particular Mela students will prepare many creative models using the
cardboard sheets and the materials which are available around them. AIFT
will support the students whenever necessary but teachers will guide the
students on how to explain the concept to others. The following word
contains the complete report of Balamela.
Process of Balamela:-
STAFF MEETING:-
FSC District Coordinator conducted the staff meeting in these schools and made
the teachers and students to understand the following points.
1. What is Balamela?
2. How does it look?
3. How to select the students?
4. How to give chance for students to select the activities?
5. What are the materials needed?
6. How to prepare the budget?
7. How to prepare the students?
8. How to inaugurate the Balamela Program?
9. Who will be the guest and participants?
After the meeting, the teachers and students decided the date and time to conduct
the Balamela in their school campus.
During this Balamela Program Mr. Chetan Garga visited Channasandra
School and Mrs. Lopamudra visited Koodlu School from SUNGARD. Apart from
them SDMC Members and parents were also presented in these schools to observe
the creative work done by their children. They were so happy because their
children explained the concepts in their own words to their classmates and also to
them. But the teachers said that, most of the learning happened in this particular
event and we are not able to imagine that, the students have prepared the activities
by their own and participated very enthusiastically. So we are very thankful to
AIFT and we do more than this for the next academic year.
Outcome of the Balamela Program: -
The immediate outcome of this BALAMELA program was;
Students learnt many technology skills.
Students learnt concepts which are more related to their curriculum.

friends, parents, text book, teachers and internet etc.,
Non DE School students were actively participated in this event and learnt
the skills.
DE Contest
This year the DE Contest topic was announced in the 1st week of November
2011. The topic and the main branches to focus were already given by AIFT
itself. So here is the topic.
In these schools the students and teachers were so interested to participate in the
contest but unfortunately the teachers had residential training and census work, so
it took quite long time for students to finish the project with the proper guidance of
their teachers. But they have used lot of videos and live pictures to give the life for
the topic. Moreover Kudlu School won the second prize in the contest.
Special Report of Sungard School
Introduction
FSC is meant for implementation of innovative activities to make the
teachers to integrate the technology in their teaching process where as for
students to learn the concepts differently. So keeping all this in mind FSC
team coordinators tried few innovative activities to achieve the objectives.
Innovative work
o Content with picture
This year all the students enjoyed preparing this content with pictures in
computers with the help of internet. Most of the learning happened in this
particular activity. This was the first activity started in this year.
Picture Resource
Picture Resource means collection of pictures related to one particular lesson
gathered by teachers with the help of internet. This is actually helped the
teachers a lot while conducting their class in the computer lab. This is the
second innovative work tried in these schools to increase the teacher’s
interest in integration of technology.

Subject oriented video resource
Apart from the picture resource the school coordinators helped the teachers
and students to collect the videos from internet. This also helped the teachers
to convey their class very creatively as well as informatively.
DE Projects
Along with the innovative activities, these school students learnt how to
produce DE Projects with the proper guidance of their respective teachers.
These projects helped the students to recall the contents that are gathered
while preparing and consolidating the projects.
Moral Stories
When the students learnt how to access computer and internet, they have
prepared few moral stories in English. This helped the students to learn the
usage of internet and made them to understand the story in English.
Nalikali Projects
While conducting the teachers training in the school all the teachers used to
do the projects related to their subject. But 1 to 3rd
STD teachers will not get
much time to attend the computer training as well as to produce the projects.
Somehow they are impressed by the projects done by other teachers and they
also tempted to do the same. The small students helped their teachers to
produce the following projects. The picture which is inserted here is not
taken from internet but it is captured by Digital Camera.
o
DE Period
As a result of all the above innovative work done by the teachers and
students, the DE period increased a lot than the last year. Most of the time
teachers spent their valuable time in the computer lab itself to collect the
data and also to transact their subject one or the other way.
Report in newspaper:-
The Balamela program which was
conducted in Kudlu Government
Higher Primary School was very
impressive and published in
newspaper like, “Kudlu Government
Higher Primary School organized
Balamela Program for students with
the guidance of American India
Foundation Trust and for this
program Mr. Lalith Prasad from
AIFT and Mrs. Lopa from
SUNGARD was presented”.
Government officials visit to Kudlu School
In the month of December 3 Government officials visited Kudlu School for
inspection. They have also entered in the computer lab and surprised by watching
student’s projects and lesson plan done the teachers. After their observation they
have written very long report by appreciating the AIFT organization.
2nd time balamela organized in Channasandra School
As usual the
Government Higher
Primary School
Channasandra also
organized the
Balamela with more
innovative activities.
For this Mela Mrs. Shyamala (Cluster Resource Person, Education Department)
was presented. She observed the activities very carefully and listed few activities
which can explain to others. End of the day she came to office and appreciated
AIFT and the school staff. But after a week she requested Mr. Nagaraj (Head
Teacher) to conduct the same Balamela in the school campus. He agreed and
organized the Mela once again. It was really shock for everybody because Mrs.
Shyamala brought 42 teachers from other Government and Aided Schools. It was a
good program for them to observe the creative activities done by the students.
While leaving the school they said, they surely conduct this program in their
respective schools.

Case studies
Student Case Study:-
Computer can attract anybody at any time and
computer is not specially made for a particular
person, it is for everybody. You may think why
these words are coming here? So here is the
evident for that:-
This is the special case study about the student
called Shobhitha. She is studying 8th
STD in
Chennasandra Govt Higher Primary School.
She is not bright in studies, means even she is not able to identify the letters
quickly, because she forgets soon. Her class teacher is always worried about her
studies. Shobhitha love computer a lot and because of that she never get bored to
attend the school. She learnt MS Paint and how to search for pictures in the
internet in the past year. According to the School coordinators annual plan Ms.
Venkatalakshmi started to teach Kannda typing. In the beginning she took time to
learn typing, later she picked up well and now she can type very fast than other
students. As a result not only her typing speed improved but now she can recognize
all the alphabets and words quickly. Her class teacher said this is the great change
happened in her student learning style.
Teacher Case Study:-
My name is Aruna RS I am working as an assistant
teacher in Kudlu Govt Higher Primary School. I take
science subject for all grade students. In the year
2010 AIFT provided 10 computers to our school with
support of SUNGARD. For 2 months I did not get
time to visit the computer lab and I did not know
what facilities are provided. One day Mr. Manjunath
(School Coordinator, AIFT) assist me to draw some
pictures in the computer. For the first the time I did
not do well but Mr. Manjunath appreciated my
attempt. I started visiting regularly and learnt some of the applications like, MS
Paint, MS Word; Kannada typing etc., all my
colleagues was doing the projects on their
subject, so I also selected one of the science
topics from 7th
STD text book and prepared the
project for whole lesson. After this Mr.
Manjunath taught how to collect pictures from
internet. According to his instruction I was
searching for the pictures, immediately I saw the
videos also in that particular web page. I approached Manjunath to download all
videos and applied in my project. One fine day I made 7th
STD students to sit in the
computer lab and displayed the project. It was almost 33 slides with related
pictures and videos. Actually I took this particular class for 3 periods continuously
and all the students were so attentively observed and enjoyed that particular lesson.
I asked few questions on the spot, I was shocked because they were able to recall
and reply the concepts very clearly. I was amazed! According to my program of
work I have to finish this lesson within 10 days but I did it in a 3 periods without
skipping any single point. Now I understood how best we can utilize the computer
in our subject.
