Dear Parish Family,
As a response to the call to be good stewards of God’s varied grace, we are publishing this Annual Stewardship Report that summarizes our parish’s work in the areas of faith formation, religious education, sacramental preparation, evangelization, outreach to our community and facility repairs and maintenance as well as the stewardship of treasure report for the fiscal year July 2017 through June 2018, for both the church and the school.
I continue to stress the importance of aligning our resources with our parish priorities. This past year, guided by the Diocesan Pastoral Plan, we focused on the priority of strengthening Marriage and Family Life. The key to success in all our parish mission is Prayer. We started the year with the Family Stewardship Prayer, prayed in our Sunday Mass. Family-oriented activities are adopted during our Feast Day celebrations. Parishioners are provided with opportunity to attend Marriage validation workshop and Advent and Lenten Mission talk focused on strengthening marriage and family. A part-time director of Marriage and Family Life was hired. Preparations are underway for the opening of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. In November, we renewed our stewardship commitment when we “Pray Gratefully, Witness joyfully, Serve compassionately and Give Generously.”
The Total Church Revenue was 3% lower than budget while total Expenses was 2% lower
than budget. We have achieved our yearly goal of generating positive Cash Income in order to meet our yearly financing requirements. We continue to pay off our Parish Loan with the diocese by using our Parish Savings.
The School’s financial performance has been positive and we continue to make prudent capital improvements so as to attract more students each year and remain viable in years to come.
Through the guidance of the Parish Finance Council, we remain committed to be trustworthy stewards of the collective treasures you offer to the Church.
As you review this report, take a few moments to reflect on your level of commitment in your stewardship of time, talent and treasure. Your commitment helps us plan for the daily workings of the parish.
I am grateful for all who work tirelessly to support our parish. It takes many hands and hearts to carry on Christ’s mission until the End of Time. Thank you for your stewardship of time, talent, and treasure. Your sacrifice and generosity are greatly appreciated.
Yours in Christ and His Mother,
Fr. Gregorio Honorio Jr.Pastor

The mission of Saint Theresa School is to provide a quality Catholic education rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the education of the
whole child: spirit, mind and body.
“My experience at St. Theresa School has been amazing. Throughout my years here, I’ve made many close friends. It’s always nice to see new faces every year, whether it’s new students and/or staff. The teachers here have done an amazing job, teaching us new things and making it equally fun! Since Kindergarten, the friends that I have made here have grown with me and feel like family. St. Theresa has given me good education, a healthy relationship with God and friends that feel like family.” – Kawena Kamai-Tuiteleleapaga, STS 7th

“Leading St. Theresa School is like parenting your own children. Like a parent, a principal has the highest expectations for their students and faculty. Principals want the best curriculum thatprepare their students to excel in the future. At the same time, keep old
traditions that embellish the hearts of students. Inspire their spirit and create minds that master concepts so that others may learn from these young people. Parents remind their children to respect others. Catholic School principals remind their children to know God, increase their faith so that respect is never hindered or forgotten.”

Our Religious Education Program has its first implementation of the Restored Order of the Sacraments of Initiation. This means that children of the age of reason ( 7 years old and above) were prepared to receive the sacrament of confirmation, and at the same time their first Holy communion. Those in Grades 3- 8 until High School who were baptized and have received first communion were also prepared to receive the sacrament of confirmation. From September to December, our children received regular grade level lessons and in January they focused on the lessons for confirmation. Along were exciting activities like family day, retreats, Eucharistic adoration in class and in the church, family activities and Stewardship service projects.
In addition to the transition activities, our middle schoolers gathered every Thursday night for prayers, studies of the scriptures and other wholesome and engaging activities geared towards a deeper encounter with Jesus Christ and becoming a good stewards of the gospel.
Indeed SY 2018-2019 was a year of blessings. Together with St. Theresa School, we have 303 children complete their sacrament of Initiation. Challenging but a grace-filled one. Parents, Students, school and parish staff and all parishioners took part in a special way in forming these young disciples of Jesus.
Truly, it takes a village to form one. Mahalo everyone!

… Before joining RE, I understood nothing of the Catholic Church. My family would go to church every Sunday, but I never truly knew what was going on. But once I started my classes to receive First Holy Communion and regular religious education, I began my faith journey. I started to learn about our Church’s traditions, about God’s unconditional love, and about the special path he has for each of us After my First Holy Communion, I became more involved in Parish life. I gave more of my time to the Church community. As I was preparing for Confirmation, I attended Middle School Ministry every week. It’s there where I found my “vocation!” I knew I wanted to become a catechist. CCST’s RE program has helped me to find my path, my purpose, and identity. Ronya Malae, Student
… Being a Catechist Aid, taught me to always be patient and I have learned how to take lead with much more confidence. I love the joy of teaching what I believe and have been taught from going to Catholic schools, receiving the Sacraments, and attending Youth Ministry. Mikaela Dolor, Catechist
…When Boys Scouts was rechartered to the Co-Cathedral in 2016, I decided to enroll my two boys, Jordan and Jayden, to Religious Education to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. It is very important to me to choose a convenient and safe environment for my kids. Jordan and Jayden received the sacrament of confirmation last May. Now, Jordan volunteered to be catechist aide for this school year and, I enrolled too my 2 other sons, Jarryn and Joshua. Class time is within my schedule. Sunday masses encourage my whole family to be part of this faith community. We continue to be volunteers. I have all the opportunities to organize my family and children activities. Being there make me feel that my faith grows as my children continue their journey with Christ, putting into practice truths of the faith they learn each day. -Jocelyn Tongpalan, Parent

“Youth Ministry creates an environment of vibrancy for the Holy Spirit, through the eyes of the youth.. And how they faithfully come to youth nights, hungry for more,
and to strengthen their relationship with God. We must be doing something right because they are coming every Sunday! They are inviting their non-Catholic
friends from schools and clubs to join in on the fun with Jesus! - Alofa Leasiolagi, YM Core Team Leader
If there was a word to describe YOUTH MINISTRY this past year, it would be JOY. How
fitting to witness JOY among the youth of our parish as they prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation. We share that
same JOY in serving our CCST faith community in many
ways: bi-weekly youth gatherings for Grades 6-12,
youth retreats, various events and activities with our West
Honolulu Vicariate brothers & sisters in Christ, Diocesan Youth

“Middle School Ministry is way that I’m able to open up to other people about the word of God. It’s a way for me to meet new people and learn more about God and to grow
deeper in my faith. I always look forward coming every Thursday to talk about faith and to overall be a more holy person. This program has inspired to not be scared about my religion, but to embrace my beliefs and spread the good news to others. I love learning how the lessons we
learn connect to us in real life, and helps me make better decisions and to think about God with all of my decisions. I
leave each youth night with new information to think about in my daily life which has made me a better person
in general and it just makes me feel more spirited and uplifted.” -Isabella Samiano, 8th Grade Moanalua Middle

“I believe that Life Teen and Edge has allowed the youth to grow in their faith and have fun learning about it. As
someone who was a part of youth ministry and now as a core team member, I have seen it thrive. We, as core
members, have been a motivation to these youth as they journey not only in their faith but as they apply what they
have learned into their every day live. Observing that in these youth is very rewarding and fills me up with the Holy

Kudos!!! To the Social Ministry of the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa for a good job!!!
Being a recipient of their services, I can say, I’m so blessed and grateful. It’s indeed a manifestation of God’s unconditional love for us.
Their services are great help to everyone, especially to the needy. With it, they’re alleviating one of the basic problems in their life which is food. But above all, they’re making a difference in a way that’s easier for them to survive as they go in their journey of life.
More power to the Social Ministry of the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa. From: Grateful Heart 2018
The goal of Social Ministry is to empower parishioners to live out the Gospel by serving others and
