I chose Ansel Adams because I really like pictures of landscapes and nature. A big wide view makes a photograph more interesting to look at.

He is best known for his black and white photographs of landscapes. He also used a large format camera despite the weight, size, time, and cost. Only because they had high resolution which helped ensure sharpness in his images in the natural environment.

He was born inSan Francisco, California .

He went to school at the California School of Fine Arts and established the first academic photography department.

His original ambition was to become a concert pianist.

Though he loved to play the piano and take photographs, he chose to have a career in photography after he met Paul Strand and seen many of his works.

Ansel Adams invented the zone system to make the photos look more real.

He took pictures of Japanese prisoners during World War II.
