Answer all questions1. A student carries out an experiment to investigate the relationship between the volume of immersion, V, of a cylindrical steel rod and the buoyant force, FB .

The weight of cylindrical steel rod, Wo , is 10.0 N.Diagram 1.1 shows the arrangement of the apparatus for the experiment.

Seorang murid menjalankan satu eksperimen untuk mengkaji hubungan antara isipadu rendaman,V, rod keluli berbentuk silinder dengan daya apung, FB .Berat rod keluli berbentuk silinder, Wo ,ialah 10.0 N.Rajah 1.1 menunjukkan susunan radas untuk eksperimen tersebut.

The rod is immersed into an Eureca can which is full of water. Diagram 1.2 shows the reading of spring balance, W, when the volume of rod immersed in water, V = 50. 0 cm3 .The procedures is repeated with different volume of rod immersed in water of V = 100. 0 cm3, 150. 0 cm3, 200. 0 cm3 and 250. 0 cm3. The actual corresponding readings of spring balance are shown in Diagrams 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6.

(b) Based on Diagrams 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 on page 3 and page 4: Berdasarkan Rajah 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 dan 1.6 di halaman 3 dan 4:

(i). Record the reading,W, of each srping balance, in the spaces provided on page 3 and page 4 respectively. Catatkan bacaan neraca spring, W , dalam ruang yang disediakan di halaman 3 dan 4.

( ii ) Calculate the buoyant force, FB , acting of the rod for each value of W by using the following equation :

2. A student carried out an experiment to investigate the relationship between the temperature of a liquid when heated and its mass, m. The student used the same immersion heater to heat up different masses of the liquid in a constant time. The initial temperature, θ0 of the liquid which is constant and the final temperature, θ1

of the liquid after being heated are recorded.

Seorang pelajar menjalankan satu eksperimen untuk mengkaji hubungan antara suhu cecair apabila dipanaskan dan jisim, m.
