In December 2015, a group of Home for a Home members went down to meet families we had funded a home for and also to build a home for a receipient family. We were fortunate to be able to meet the Chavez Tagual Family which was the 8th home that we had funded. They are a family of three living in El Tejar, Chimaltenango, Guatemala. Fredy (23 yrs old) and Carmen (21 yrs old) are a young couple with a 4 month old son, Elian Eduardo. Fredy works in agriculture and earns Q250 per week (about $33 per week). Carmen also works as a house-keeper and earns Q30 per day ($3.92 per day). They are trying to save money to install the basic services such as running water and electricity. Now that they have a home, they have funds freed up to help meet this goal!
