Dear Friends and Supporters, K.I.D.S continues to grow and work hard towards providing children and families in Cambodia with the essentials of life: healthcare, education, clean drinking water and safe housing. Each year we are moved and encouraged to see the positive changes that can happen when a group of dedicated, compassionate people join together to bring hope and support to the lives of others. Thanks to the generosity and compassion of our donors and the incredible people we work alongside in Cambodia we are seeing communities change, as their children have access to education and training. Where once families were unable to send even one of their children to school we can now support them to break the cycle of poverty and child labour by giving their children an education. Together we are improving their opportunities for better employment as well as opening their minds in all sorts of creative ways. K.I.D.S now provides five thousand children and their families with clean drinking water everyday and seeing the energy children have when they have access to safe water is very rewarding and we are hoping to do it all over again in the next few years. We support health clinics like The Lake Clinic Cambodia and assist people in very isolated parts of the country to receive free health care and medicine. We continue to provide a safe and loving home for vulnerable girls and support women to learn a good trade by providing their children with free daycare and kindergarten. K.I.D.S is committed to hiring local people and directly oversee the projects and programs to ensure your donations are used ethically and wisely. We witness the strength, sacrifice and dedication of families as they strive to provide a better life for the next generation. Cambodia lost so much through decades of war and genocide however they continue to work very hard to improve the lives of their families, communities and country against difficult odds. K.I.D.S also believes in educating students living in our own community of Nanaimo by working alongside teachers, VIU Child and Youth Care University students and Faculty to bring awareness about Social Justice and Global Citizenship. We want to sincerely thank our donors, board of directors, foundations, children, businesses, volunteers, and schools who partner with K.I.D.S. in the work we do and believe in the vision of a more equitable world.
