A call for softball players went out to the community in early spring 2012. Through out the summer numerous practices were held. During this time the volunteer coaches and parents worked with the

teams helping to develop each individual’s confidence and style.

With hard work and dedication both teams discovered their unique strength, skills and talent that created the Kitigan Zibi Kwingwayage and Kitigan Zibi Kishkanakwad youth softball teams.

The winners of the Fastest Pitch competition were:

With the help from parents and community members, the Nottaway Cup Challenge was an event to remember. Youth from ages 10-17 participated with pride as they proudly represented their community. This event provided the youth a chance socialize and forge new and lasting friendships with their team mates and fellow athletes.
