God save the Queen, Send her victorious, Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us, God save the Queen.”
HYMN
“ABIDE WITH ME”
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide; When other helpers fail, and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day; Earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see; O Thou who changes not, abide with me.
Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies; Heaven’s morning breaks and earth’s vain shadows flee
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me. -Amen
Prayers will be offered by Padre Ra Koia
At this hour, upon this day, ANZAC received its baptism of fire and became one of the immortal
names in history. We who are gathered here think of the comrades who, then and since,
fought for freedom on land, sea and in the air but did not return. We feel them still near us in
spirit. We wish to be worthy of their great sacrifice. Let us therefore once more dedicate ourselves to the service of the ideals for which they died. As dawn is even now about to pierce the night, so let their memory inspire us to work the coming of the new light into the dark places
of the world. We will remember them.
Please repeat after Mr Warwick Power

Hymn: “O GOD OUR HELP IN AGES PAST”
O God, our help in ages past Our hope for years to come
Our shelter from the stormy blast; And our eternal home.
Under the shadow of Thy throne,
Thy saints have dwelt secure. Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defence is sure.
Before the hills in order stood Or earth received her frame;
From everlasting Thou art God, To endless years the same.
A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone; Short as the watch that ends the night,
Before the rising sun.
Time, like an ever-rolling stream, Bears all its sons away.
They fly, forgotten, as a dream Dies at the opening day.
O God our help, in ages past, Our hope for years to come;
Be Thou our guard while troubles last, And our eternal home.
— Amen

I am not a badge of honour, I am not a racist smear, I am not a fashion statement, To be worn but once a year, I am not glorification, Of conflict or of war. I am not a paper ornament, A token, I am more. I am a loving memory, Of a father or a son, A permanent reminder, Of each and every one.
I’m paper or enamel, I’m old or shining new, I’m a way of saying thank you, To every one of you. I am a simple poppy, A reminder to you all, That courage faith and honour, Will stand where heroes fall. Paul Hunter 2014
