The definition of a instructor/teacher is someonehired especially to teach people new things tohelp them improve on certain stuff.

My example is Stuart Lancaster. He was hired bythe RFU to help England improve on certain skills. He has to instruct and teach his players a variety ofthings, such as keeping them updated on the rules, improving on skills (passing, speed, fitness, tackling

etc.) He even has to teach his staff new coachingtechniques which will then be a great advantagetowards the players.

As the head coach of an international rugbysquad his coaching strategies NEED to be usefulotherwise he is not the right material for the jobposition. There needs to be a sign of progression inthe squad, for example, winning matches, makinggood progression in cups and competitions.

Its also key that he provides motivation for playersthat are on form, he also needs to provide care forplayers who are having a tough time from familiesor even the media.

I'm sure that Stuart Lancaster covers all aspects ofbeing a head coach which involves being ainstructor/teacher, thats why he is the coach ofEngland rugby.

Stuart Lancaster:Head Coach at England Rugby. He is part of ateam and sets a great example.

Stuart Lancaster was first hired as a temporarycoach after Martin Johnson quit the job as thehead coach the England. Stuart Lancaster was left

with a range of responsibilities and aims toaccomplish in order for the RFU to decide if he'scapable for the job. Amazingly Lancaster hadmade his team finish 2nd place in the RBS SixNations where is a huge improvement from beingknocked out in the world cup 2011 quarter finalunder Martin Johnsons management. Lancasterhad made many changes to the coaching staffand players and from his achievement for finishing2nd he was then awarded the job over 2 othercoaches who were put forward.

Dave Alred is mainly classed as a coach but he isalso a friend. Especially if he is coaching one toone sessions with players. Dave has to accomplishmany roles in order to be a good friend to hisparticipants . The great advantage in having oneto one sessions is that they can get to know eachother quicker and find more about them in their

    sessions.

He can provide care, motivation and inspiration forthe player he is coaching, it works so much betterwhen your one to one as some people may getshy or unconfident in larger groups, so when youhave your one to one you can increase theirconfidence and they can be themselves aroundyou; they feel confortable.

    Dave Alred:

He is the kicking coach for world cup hero JohnnyWilkinson. He works on behalf of England rugbyand is specially hired to coach Johnny Wilkinsonand other players.

This is Chris Robshaw. He is currently captain ofEngland and Harlequins RFC. The reason why Chrisis captain for his international team plus his clubteam is because he demonstrates the skills of whatit takes to be a captain.

In order to be a successful captain it is essential

that you provide motivation to yourteam/teammates, a great example for this is if yourteam is losing, everyone has their heads down, itsthen the captains job to motivate every singleplayer on the field, you need to show that its stillpossible to get a good result.

A captain can also be a role model for the team

or fans. Many people in the team want thatposition and the special person to receive thehonour of being the captain should feel privilegedbut they have been chosen captain for a reasonand thats to provide great motivation to lead yourteam to victory.

Mike Krzyzewski is the head coach for the USAbasketball squad. He has lead USA to a goldmedal in the 2012 London Olympics, not tomention they went the whole competitionunbeaten.

As the head coach its his responsibility that all his

players and staff know the current changes to therules of the sport. It is vital that he explains to hisplayers and staff the rule changes as it can have amassive impact on the game. If players dont knowthe rules the NBA (National Basketball Association)will realise that the coach is not suitable for the joband not completing his responsibilities and mayresult in firing the coach.

To make sure the players/staff know the changeshe needs to arrange regular meetings and trainingsessions where they can learn these new rules andthen work on them practically to definitely makesure everyone understands them.

As a assistant coach I have to ensure the safety and security ofthe players I am coaching. The main way I can do this is bycarrying out a risk assessment. By completing a risk assessment itwill prove that I have evidence in completing one and I ammaking sure I am taking into account the safety and security ofthe children, you can be in serious trouble if you dont use oneas the parents will get the impressions that youre not a suitablecoach for their children. The risk assessment can cover aspectssuch as appropriate weather conditions, correct equipmentand clothing being used etc.

There are other ways you can make sure the players are safe,an example can be making sure I am coaching the childrenthe proper techniques, I dont want them to cause any seriousinjuries to themselves or others by performing the wrongtechniques. Appropriate behaviour is also required by allplayers, I cannot have children messing about, play fightingand throwing grass about as that could be a hazard to, such asthrowing an object and striking someone in the eye, or play

fighting and either of them injures themselves, I have to bedisciplined if these errors occurred and handle them in thecorrect way.

Lastly I need to make sure all children are wearing the Correctequipment, in rugby this would be gum-shields and correctfootwear. It is essential you need a gum-shield as when you areyounger your teeth are more vulnerable, they need to be keptsafe/guarder by the shield. Also you need to correct footwearas you dont want a child to turn up in school shoes or sandals, they need the right footwear the sport.

I've chose Sir Alex Ferguson, asthe head manger as Manchester United FC he hasto make sure the club is running nicely and thatthe players are satisfied. Alex will have a lot ofpressure on him as he is expected to competevarious tasks at the club, these task can be to win

cups/leagues or even try sign new players toimprove his squad.

He also has to arrange training days, rest days, fixtures and also physiotherapy for the players tohelp them recover/prevent injury. Byaccomplishing this it will make his squad moresatisfied with the club and reduce the chance ofhis players signing for other clubs. He has heaps ofresponsibilities as a manger as he has to make surehe handles them efficiently.

By having authority when coaching people it givesthat bit of power to control the coaching sessions.By having authority you earn respect with thechildren/youths/adults so they dont misbehave, act immature or use rude and abusive language.

People will listen to you and complete the tasks

given by their coach, thats why strict coaches areoften the best coaches as the dont tolerate badbehaviour or lack of commitment.

On the other hand, there is a certain limit you canuse your authority as if your coaching youngerchildren or youths they might get upset and haveno more interest in sports. You dont want people

to leave your sessions and never come back. Youneed to b careful how you use your authority whenaround younger people as it can have badconsequences, their parents may get involvedwhich doesnt look good.

By showing kindness and friendship in your sessionyou will create that special bond with people soyou can have entertaining and successfulcoaching sessions.

Some people may be shy or unconfident whenaround larger groups of people, but when you

build on the relationship with them you canimprove on their confidence in addition to theirabilities. By having that bond, people can bethemselves around you and enjoy your sessions, which is want you want to see, everyone keepingactive and enjoying it.

As a role of kindness/friendship its your job as a

coach to be a role model in their eyes, so you cantset bad examples as this can effect on theyounger people you coach. You need to providecaring comfort when players are feeling upset orunder stress, this is what a friend does.
