Dear Cattlemen:

Welcome to our “Building with the Basics” bull sale. Needless to say it is truly a great time to be a part of the

beef industry. Record cattle prices and record beef demand has us all smiling and it has been a long time coming. It’s

your success and sustainability that drives our operation and there has never been a time when the right genetics were

worth so much. We feel there is a bull for everyone in the offering with a nice offering of both Hybrid and Purebred

Angus bulls. We welcome any comments, suggestions, or concerns you may have and will go to great lengths to make

your experience of owning a Gaaskjolen bull a profitable and enjoyable one.

Our 2015 sale offering will consist of popular proven bloodlines as well as some fresh young genetics. You can

put together half brothers for consistency, moderate birth weights for calving ease, or bulls with substance, bone, eye

appeal and ease of fleshing. The choice is yours. Whatever helps your program succeed.

The bulls have been through a complete vaccination program and poured with Ivomec. As in past years they have

been fed a complete commercial CHS feed called Bull Challenger, a feed designed with growing young bulls in mind.

Again this year the birth weights are a mixture of being weighed on a digital scale, a spring scale, taping a foot, and a

few are an educated estimate. In all cases they were born unassisted and calving ease shows up in almost every

pedigree. Some are recommended for heifers.

This is a strong set of bulls and represents less than 50% of our calf crop. They will be sold as commercial bulls and

if anyone needs to have a bull registered they should visit with one of us before the sale. Some bulls will not be eligible

for registry. We invite you to browse through the catalog and find the right bulls for your operation. If we can be if any

Volume Discounts:

Volume discounts are available to a single buyer.

Purchase 5-9 bulls deduct 5%

Purchase 10+ bulls and deduct 10%

Breeder’s Guarantee:

All bulls are sold without a semen test, but are guaranteed

capable of passing a veterinarian’s semen test. In no event shall

the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price of the

bull and all claims must be made by September 1, 2015.

Trucking and Yardage:

We will deliver the bulls free within 250 miles or you can haul

your bulls home sale day and deduct $35 per head. Bulls will be

kept free of charge at the buyer’s risk until April 1st and then

delivered.

Igenity Profiles

How to read Igenity profile results: RFI– describes an animal’s feed intake above or below its

predicted need for maintenance and growth. Lower scores

indicate less intake.

ADG– describes an animal’s genetic potential for post

weaning rate of gain. Directed toward the feedlot period, a

higher value indicates more average daily gain.

Tenderness-represents the genetic potential for tenderness

as measured by the Warner Bratzler shear force test, with

the higher scores being more tender than lower scores.

Marbling-an expression of the potential to improve the

USDA marbling score. A higher value indicates a higher

marbling score.

Percent Choice– reflects the percent that will grade Choice

or higher. 64.4% of score 10 will grade Choice or higher

over animals with a score 1.

Yeild Grade-higher scores equal a genetic potential for a

higher USDA Yield Grade. Animals with higher scores are

expected to be genetically fatter and/or lighter muscled.

Fat Thickness– predicts the differences in external fat thick-

ness as measured between the 12th and 13th rib. Lower scores

indicate less external fat.

Ribeye Area– predicts the size of ribeye in carcass of sire’s

progeny compared to other sires. A higher value indicates a

larger ribeye area.

Heifer Pregnancy Rate– is used as a tool to increase the

chance of a sire’s daughters becoming pregnant during a

normal breeding season. Higher scores are considered more

favorable.

Stayability– indicates the chance a heifer will stay in the herd

until at least 6 years old. Scores of 10 have 16.7% greater

chance than a score of 1.

Maternal Calving Ease- is measured by the number of

unassisted births. Higher numbers indicate greater calving

ease.

Docility– is the animal’s genetic potential to be extremely

calm. Higher numbers indicate an improvement in cattle

temperament.

Coat Color– Yes = homozygous black, No = red gene carrier.
