Through speakers from various campus and off-campus resources, participants will gather information during the following break-out sessions: Admissions An opportunity to find out additional information from Admissions Staff on being admitted as a freshman or transfer student. Autism Spectrum Transition to college for students on the Autism Spectrum. What students, parents, and others should know. Campus Tours An opportunity to find out more about the UW-Whitewater Campus by taking a talking and walking tour with campus assistants. Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) Services An overview of the services provided by the Center for Students with Disabilities and how to access those accommodations and services. Information on documentation guidelines is included in this presentation. Differences Between High School and College/Academic Accommodations Acomparisonofthedifferencesbetweenaccommodationsandservicesforcollegestudentswithdisabilitiesversushigh school students with disabilities. Session will also include an overview of widely-used academic accommodations. Living on Campus What is living on campus like? Do I get to pick my roommate? How do I fit all of my stuff into my room? Answers to these questions and more. UW-W LIFE Program Learn about a new postsecondary, on-campus program for young adults with intellectual disabilities.
