●General Affairs Section ・ This section is responsible for receiving and guiding guests, as well as providing advice for those seeking police assistance. Officers in this section also engage in clerical work and recruit new police officers. ●Accounting Section ・ Officers in this section take responsibility for maintaining police buildings, vehicles, etc, and also maintain the lost and found office. ●Community Safety Section ・ The responsibilities of this section are varied. Community Safety Officers provide guidance to local residents about what should be done to avoid becoming involved/victimized in crimes, and educating teenagers and/or students against the dangers of juvenile delinquency. They also protect lost/stray children and crack down on fraudulent business practices. On a managerial level, they grant permission to respective owners of firearms as well as maintain safety in businesses offering food and entertainment. ●Community Police Section ・ The responsibilities of the section include responding to emergency calls, dispatching officers, patrolling areas and monitoring busy/dangerous streets, and giving directions. ●Criminal Investigation Section ・ The scope of work covered by this section includes receiving and filing victim reports, and investigating crimes. This section is responsible for cracking down on crimes related to narcotics, stimulants and organized crime groups. ●Traffic Section ・ This section is responsible for educating the public on road safety, regulating traffic, maintaining traffic infrastructure, issuing driver's licenses and enforcing vehicle owner requirements. ●Security Section ・ This section is responsible for dealing with potential terrorist activities, protecting and escorting VIPs, and engaging in rescue activities at the time of natural disasters.

Police officers working in the field of what wecall community safety pursue the activities inpreventing/stopping crimes related to juvenileproblems, public morals, amusementbusinesses, and environmental pollution.They patrol cyberspace to detect/deterfraudulent business, and they investigateenvironmental destruction caused by illegallydumped industrial wastes and/or by pollutedwater discharged from factories/houses. Also,the officers make the utmost efforts topreclude adult entertainment business fromcrossing the line into illegality, and to protectminors from falling prey to sex business.

Police officers working in the field ofcommunity police patrol every corner of thejurisdiction/precinct they are assigned to.Their activities are community-based, beingheavily involved with each police box'sjurisdiction. They also act as an informationoutlet for crime/accident prevention in each,individual community.

Police officers working in the field of securityare called at the time of natural disasters andother large scale calamities. They conductemergency rescue drills on regular basis, andare ready to dash off to disaster sites aroundthe clock in order to minimize both propertyloss/damage and human suffering. It is alsoan important part of their work to deal withpotential terrorist threats.

Police officers working in the field of trafficenforce the traffic rules/regulations, andconduct educational campaigns for roadsafety; in particular, a major emphasis isplaced on school-children education to getthem to observe traffic rules/regulations, andon motor-vehicle-driver education for safedriving.

Police officers working in the field of criminalinvestigation deal with felony, larceny,embezzlement, bribery and corruption. Suchcrimes are often organized, and sometimeseven international. There are a wide variety ofpenal code cases that they have to investigateand solve.
