GDI’s History:

In May 2004, Gulf Drilling International Limited (GDI) was established as the

first onshore and offshore oil and gas drilling company in Qatar. GDI was

formed as a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum (QP), Qatar’s national oil

corporation, and Japan Drilling Co. (JDC). In July 2007

QP acquired 25% shares of JDC, raising its ownership in GDI to 70%. In

February of 2008

All shares of QP were transferred to Gulf International Services (GIS), which

became a public shareholding company in May 2008 and is listed on the

Doha Securities Market.

In May 2014 GIS acquired all remaining JDC shares in GDI to make it a 100%

Qatari owned company. GDI celebrated its 10th Anniversary during the same

month.

GDI’s Growth:

GDI has seen rapid growth in the past 10 years. GDI’s rig fleet has grown to 17,

and its workforce has increased to over 1700 employees including over 140

Qatari Nationals. Its current fleet consists of 9 offshore jack-up drilling rigs, 6 land

rigs, 1 Liftboat and 1 accommodation jack-up. In addition, GDI has a Liftboat that

it operates under charter.

GDI has recently been awarded contracts to provide two more Onshore drilling

rigs, one high spec Offshore drilling rig and one Liftboat; all projected to start

operations between Q3-2015 and Q1-2016.

Dukhan Support & Services (DSSA)

The Central Warehouse now holds a large inventory to support the full

GDI fleet and ensure world class performance. Our logistics assets are

also based there along with our much needed workshop

The DSSA base has the following areas of responsibility:

• Total open yard area 83,373 Square Meters

• Total warehouse area 16,610 Square Meters

• Workshop 10,000 Square Meters

• Accommodation capacity For 767 Beds

• Water well rigs 3 with 2 more on the way

• Mobile workshop trucks 3 with 3 more on the way

• Mobile Cranes 8 (from 50 tons to 130 tons)
