As a child, billionaire Bruce Wayne fell into a well that was swirling with a colony of terrifying bats. After the death of his parents, Bruce transformed this lifelong phobia into a new identity. He became Batman, the Caped Crusader. Although criminals now fear him, Batman and his symbol represent hope to the citizens of Gotham City.
