Team  interaction  is  an  integral  part  of  the  AFJROTC  program.    Each  team  has  a  commander  and  usually  a  deputy.    The  leadership  possibility  exists  at  each  team  and  level.

In  addition  to  drill,  sabre  and  color  guards,  AFJROTC  also  sponsors  an  Academic  Challenge  team,  an  Orienteering  Team,  a  Marksmanship  Team,  and  two  CyberPatriot  teams.

Orienteering  Challenge  is  a  Creighton  Army  ROTC-‐sponsored  land  navigation  competition  at  Platte  River  State  Park.

CyberPatriot  is  a  computer/network  security  competition  sponsored  by  the  Air  Force  Association  and  involving  mentors  from  across  the  corporate  information-‐technology  spectrum.

The  Kitty  Hawk  Air  Society  is  an  academic  and  community  service  organization.    Kitty  Hawk  is  the  face  of  NE-‐771  and  challenges  its  members  to  maintain  a  “B”  average  in  all  classes  and  an  “A”  in  Aerospace  Science.    The  society  is  limited  to  25%  of  the  cadet  corps.    Each  year,  approximately  85-‐90%  of  Kitty  Hawk  members  are  accepted  to  the  National  Honor  Society,  an  outstanding  accomplishment!

The  curriculum  includes  physical  education,  health,  history  of  the  Air  Force,  science  of  flight,  principles  of  management,  survival,  life  skills  and  career  opportunities,  and  exploration  of  space.    Cadets  learn  all  aspects  of  citizenship  and  service,  as  well  as  how  to  lead,  manage  and  prepare  for  life  after  high  school.

AFJROTC’s  well-‐rounded  program  fits  any  lifestyle  and  schedule  (including  band,  choir  and  sports).

A  premier  AFJROTC  unit  -‐  designated  “Distinguished  Unit”  for  the  2013/2014  academic  year…the  highest  eligible  award!

Join  a  Team  of  Excellence…

At  Bellevue  West,  AFJROTC  cadets  have  unique  opportunities  to  enhance  leadership  and  teamwork  skills  by  participating  in  a  wide  variety  of  community  service,  organizational  and  team  projects.

Men’s  and  Women’s  drill  teams  travel  throughout  the  Midwest  and  nationally.    Teams  compete  at  the  Air  Force  national  drill  meet  each  year  with  outstanding  results.    The  Sabre  team  performs  at  local  venues  across  the  greater  Omaha  community.

The  Color  Guard  presents  our  nation’s  colors  at  civic,  military  and  sporting  events  several  times  each  month,  including  the  NCAA  College  World  Series.
