About Department

BNMIT-MBA program is one of the reputed B-Schools in Karnataka

affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. Department offers dual

specializations in the streams of Human Resources, Finance and Marketing.

Established in 2006, has a current intake of 120.

Major Achievements of Department

The Department has won Silver Award for Innovation in Teaching

Methodology at the IMC Awards 2015 organized by the 6th Indian

Management Conclave. The innovative teaching methodology was

presented in the form of a case titled, “I3: Innovative Integrated-Inclusive

Management Pedagogy, A Case Study on Leveraging MOOCs with Main

Stream MBA Program at BNMIT”.

• Secured 2 VTU ranks with 4 Gold medals.

• The Department has inked Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with:-

Republican Institute for Vocational Education (RIPO), Bealrus for

undertaking internships for Management and Engineering students.

IIMBx- the digital learning platform of IIMB.

Learnito Education Private Ltd., to have online training courses for MBA

students.

Fidelity National Financial (FNF)-to provide training to management

students and place eligible students after successful training and completion

of graduation.

University of Alabama in Huntsville, USA for academic partnership.

• Faculty members have been engaged in various consultancy projects with

Fiscal Policy Institute, Gopalan Skill Academy, Centre for

Entrepreneurship Development of Karnataka (CEDOK), Samveda

Training & Research Centre, Felder-Group India and VEE Technologies.

• Department has successfully completed consultancy project on “Impact

study of Mission 10X program” for WIPRO Technologies Ltd.,

Bangalore India.

Student Achievements during 2017-18

AAROHAN 2018-An intercollegiate Management Fest

The students of Department of MBA at BNM Institute of Technology, Bangalore

organized AAROHAN 2018, a management fest, on April 27-28. Nearly 74

teams of 172 students from several colleges have participated with full enthusiasm

and exhibited their talent and won accolades for their talents. The theme of the

Management fest was on “Entrepreneurship-Business Warriors” and it was

exclusively managed by the students of Department of MBA.

• Ms. Amulya B of fourth semester MBA has won the Best paper award for the

paper entitled “Study on organizational culture & its impact on Employee Job

Satisfaction” in the 9th National Conference- SAMVIT 2018 on „Contemporary

Management Practices in Digital Era‟ organised by SJB Institute of Technology

held on May 3, 2018.

• Ms. Chandana S and Ms. Nivya. J, of I year MBA participated and presented a

paper titled as E-commerce A SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS PRACTICE IN

DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENT in the National level paper presentation

Connaissance 2018 organised by Christ university on February 23, 2018.

• Mr.Shinde Devraj Amarsingh and Chandana S. of I year MBA participated and

presented a paper titled as “Business Innovation for Sustainability- Digital

Marketing as one of the Marketing Strategy to overcome Global Business Crisis”

in the 5th inter collegiate student conference on “Business innovation for

sustainability” in Jain University held on March 3, 2018.

• Ms. Thejaswini has won first place in Best manager as well as Best Seller event in

inter college fest organised by Sri Krishna Degree College, held on March 18,

2017.

• Ms. Sindhu S S and Mr. Likith S of second semester MBA have participated and

secured II place in Marketing event in the National Level Management and

cultural fest “GESTIONE” held on April 20 & 21, 2017 at RNSIT, Bangalore.

International Internship at Belarus

The third semester MBA students have pursued their summer internship

at RIPO University, Belarus from 19th January to 30th March 2018.

Industry Internship was organized at Minsk Tractor Works, Adani,

Amkodor, Niva Holding and Atlant companies.

CULTURAL CLUB – “KALABHAGEERATHI”

• BNMIT Kalabhageerathi team of 42 students participated in

the VTU Youth Cultural Festival held at Angadi Engineering

College, Belagavi, from April 11-13, 2018. This festival

conducts 25 different events under music, dance, theatre,

literary and fine arts.

• The team participated in all the 25 events and secured 2 Gold

and 5 Bronze Medals placing BNMIT in the 4th position

among 85 participated colleges under VTU.

• To recognize and encourage the hard work put in by the

students, the management of BNMIT has awarded

Rs.25,000/- for each Gold Medal winners, Rs.20,000/- for

each Silver Medal winners, Rs.15,000/- for each Bronze

Medal winners and Rs.10,000/- for the participants.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

The youth and sports wing of Government of India encourages

students to participate in service activities. More than hundred of

BNMIT students are proud members & participants of this NSS Club.

The Club conducts programs like: International Yoga day, Blood

Donation camp, Senior citizen health check up camp, Tree plantation,

Swachh Bharath Abhiyaan, Eye checkup camp, Sadhbhavana Diwas,

Self Defense training for girls, Awareness about crime, Old cloth

distribution to poor people, etc.

These programs inculcate in students, a spirit of belonging to the

society around them, and teach them leadership skills, develop

communication skills and encourage them to be good human beings.
