ANNUAL PLAN 2019/20 CONSULTATION

KICK START YOUR EASTER WEEKEND WITH A FUN FILLED FAMILY DAY IN CENTRAL HAWKE’S BAY.

The Little Easy is a gentle meander over our beautiful Central Hawke’s Bay Tukituki cycle trail. A family friendly ride for all ages, over 12km of limestone tracks with fantastic scenery, including cycling over the exciting 100m long Swing Bridge across the Tukituki River.

At the end of your ride, stay on and enjoy some delicious food, entertainment and live music at Russell Park. There will be lots of Easter fun and entertainment for the kids. There’s also a chance to win TWO new bikes – an adults Trek Dual Sport and Avanti MXR kids bike!

Come along to the CHB Municipal Theatre on Sunday 5 May and hear Allyson’s tips and tricks for baking fabulous food at home, and celebrate the publication of her new book, The Baker’s Companion. Every property has a unique identifier. In residential and township areas it is called a ‘street number’. In rural areas it is called a ‘RAPID’ (Rural Address Property IDentification) number.All Emergency Services rely on that number when they are attending incidents and they are an easy, quick method of making sure they are at the correct address.Make sure your property has its correct identification number in an ‘easy to see’ position

near the main entranceway to your property and if you are on a shared driveway that it’s visible at both the roadside and property entrance.During the holidays if you are out in the garden, consider trimming trees and shrubs obscuring your number and any vegetation overhanging onto public footpaths. Your life or that of a family member or friend may depend on you making sure your property is properly and easily identified.

DOG REGISTRATION – EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT ENDS 1 JULY

With over 5,000 dogs registered on Council’s database, the time has come to renew annual dog registrations.

Fees have changed for the 2019/2020 year – $110 for urban dogs, $55 for rural dogs and $75 for those with responsible dog owner status.

The good news is that if you take advantage of our early bird discount and register by 1 July 2019 then you will receive a $10 discount per dog. We encourage you all to take advantage of this!

All dogs born after 2006 must also be microchipped. The advantage of a dog being microchipped is that if they are ever go missing, it is much easier to identify your dog and return it home to you – even if it is found on the other side of New Zealand! To encourage as many people as possible to microchip their dogs, we have dramatically reduced our fee to only $15 per dog.

Remember that you can also pay for your registration online to save yourself time. We will send invoices out in the new few weeks so please keep an eye out for yours.

The Central Hawkes Bay District Council office in Waipawa and the Waipukurau Service Centre will be closed from 5pm Thursday 18 April 2019. The Waipawa Office will reopen at 8am and the Waipukurau Service at 9am on Tuesday 23 April. For all queries telephone 06 857 8060 (24 hour service).

• Open Monday 22 April 12pm – 5pm

Transfer Stations:

• All transfer stations will be closed Friday 19 April

• Open normal hours from Saturday 20 April

Kerbside Recycling:

• Waipawa: Pick up will be Thursday 18 April. Collection times may be different to normal so please ensure all recycling is out by 7.30am. No pick up on Good Friday.

• Waipukurau: Pick up as normal Monday 22 April.

The Consultation on the Annual Plan 2019/20 has now closed. Thank you to all those that came to our Have Your Say Meetings and those that have given us feedback either as a submission or as other feedback.Council is now busily collating all of the information and they will be considered by the Council during the Submission Hearings meeting and Deliberation meetings in May.You are welcome to come and hear the submissions and attend the Deliberations Meeting at the CHB Municipal Theatre on the following dates.
