Help Bag Oysters!Come help the Apalachicola NationalEstuarine Research Reserve(ANERR)   fill mesh bags with oystershells on the morning of Friday, April3rd, 2015, from 9:00am12:00pm atScipio Creek Commercial Marina inApalachicola. The bagged shells willbe used to build a breakwater that willprotect the shoreline of Cape (Little)St. George Island. The oysterbreakwater will help dissipate waveaction that erodes the shoreline. ANERR will also plant a livingshoreline to reestablish a vegetativebuffer on the shoreline. LivingShorelines provide shorelinestabilization using a combination ofcoastal native vegetation for sedimentstabilization and breakwatersconstructed of oyster shells, limestonerock, or other structures conducive tothe natural environment.   Full Moon ClimbSt. George IslandApril 4, 2015 7:30 PM  9:00PM (ET)The April Full Moon Climb at theCape St. George Lighthouse on St.George Island will be held onSaturday, April 4, 2015.  TheSunset/Full Moon Climb will takeplace from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. andwill include light hors d'oeuvres and asparkling cider toast to the full moon. Cost is $15.00 for the general publicand $10.00 for members of the St.George Lighthouse Association. The sun will set at 8:00 p.m. and the"Pink" moon will rise at 8:22 p.m. onApril 4.  This moon is named after theflower "grass pink" or 'wild groundphlox," which is one of the first andmost widespread flowers to bloom inthe spring.After sunset, people are invited toclimb to the top of the lighthouse for abreathtaking view of the full moon, asspace and time permit.  Cost is $10.00for the general public and $5.00 forSGLA members. The Cape St. George Light is locatedin St. George Lighthouse Park at the

On Saturday, the annual Art Walkcelebration of art and wine returned toApalachicola.About 50 artists had street displays, andmore than 50 more had work hanging inApalachicola's many galleries on the dayof the event.Merchants reported record crowds.Harry Arnold said he had record sales atthe Tin Shed on both Friday andSaturday."I believe it was the largest Art Walkcrowd I have seen and probably thebiggest crowd for any event of that type.I don't know how it could have beenbetter," Arnold said.Tamara Suarez, owner of Café ConLeche on Water Street, said the walkway

is the home of Anne and Clint Eason. One of the most stately homes onAve. C this Queen Annestyle home,constructed of local pine and blackcypress, dates back to 1892. Interestingly, it was erected on the siteof the former county jail.  Built bylocal merchant Rudolph Collins, thehouse later became known as theLovett house for the many decadesthat this large family shared theseliving quarters.  Anne Easoncomments that "This is the Collins/Lovett house.  We are blessed to becustodians. Nurturing feelingsenvelop us here."  In the year 2000,the house was fully restored by localcontractor, Bill Barnes, for formerowner, Beverly Austin.  Thefollowing year it was honored withthe Florida State Chrysalis Award forHistoric Preservation.  There are manywonderful architectural details in thehome including the originalgingerbread, doors, fireplaces andwindows.  The kitchen and a roomupstairs have been added, yet theintegrity of the original home has beenmaintained.  The house is enhanced bythe Eason's comfortable and invitingdecor and their use of a mixture ofantiques and contemporary andcustombuilt pieces.  Art workabounds from whimsical paintingsand sculpture to spectacularwoodcarvings and pottery by AnneEason herself.  The stylish chickencoop in the back garden houses avariety of exotic poultry.  Visitors tothe house will find much to delightthem in this home. Evensong service at Trinity EpiscopalChurch will be held on Friday, May 1at 5:30 p.m. This service provides thetraditional opening for the home tour. It will be followed by a reception towhich all are invited. Homes will beopen only on Saturday, May 2, from10:00 a.m.  4:00 p.m.  Presale ticketswill be available at $20 until the day ofthe event.  On Saturday, May 2, ticketsales will begin at 9:30 a.m. at $25 perticket. A gourmet lunch will be servedat Benedict Hall on the grounds ofTrinity Church from 11:00 a.m. 1:30p.m. during the tour. In addition, asilent auction, 10:00 a.m.  2:00 p.m.,will be a part of Saturday's festivities.Guests to Apalachicola can enhancetheir weekend experience by allowingtime to visit the many historical
