We are however in urgent need of two more people to support the Breakfast after the 8.30am service. Please speak with David Ratcliff if you are keen to understand more about what the role involves.

NEWS Great News Many of you will be aware that Lynn Caudwell, member of the Abbey congregation, is undertaking ordination training. She is due to be made a Deacon in Newcastle Cathedral on Saturday 29th June at 11am, and will become a Curate at St Andrew's in Corbridge. Please remember her in your prayers and support her by attending the Cathedral Service. This is ticketed, please ring or email the Parish Office to book a ticket.

Hexham Abbey Staff Three new positions have been advertised by Owen Mills in support of the work of the Abbey. Please see our social media pages on Facebook and Twitter or refer to our website for further information on current staff vacancies.

‘Stone’ Giveaway Many of you will have noticed a pile of stones in the Refectory Garden. These are available, firstly offered to Abbey members. Should you be in need of stone, then please come and take a look and take away on a first come first served basis. Thank you.

A Day with Lord Curry Ben and Rachael Haywood Smith recently attended a diocesan day held in Slaley. The subject matter was on rural affairs and the agricultural economy, which was both interesting and stimulating. It was most encouraging to hear that in this time of political chaos, there are those in the House of Lords both wanting to hear our views and working hard to frame relevant future policies. If you would like to know more, contact Rachael/Ben for a resume of the day.

Healing and Wholeness Service The next service for Healing and Wholeness will be on Tuesday 7th May at 7.00pm and led by Rev. Janet Jackson. Entrance for this service is via the Slype door as the other doors will be locked.

Matthew and Emily Matthew and Emily marry in Hexham Abbey on 25th May at 1pm. Please see Esther in the Parish Office should you wish to contribute by making a donation towards their wedding gift.
