API SC6 Work Group Plan for Development of HPHT Flange
Design Requirements
Date: June 25th, 2015
To provide recommendations to create a roadmap for the development of flange requirements for those sizes not currently addressed by API 6A, inclusive of those that may require application of HPHT protocols and high external load capacities.

MEETINGS
• WG met on 6/17/2015 to discuss NWI from API SC6 winter meeting 2/4/2015.
• At meeting it was decided that the WG’s focus will be on developing the “road map” for the flange design vs. working on a particular size flange i.e. 18-3/4” 20K.
• Next meeting will be 7/9/2015.
POSSIBLE DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS• New flange cross-section• Make up Torque issues ( i.e. cf) • Bolt material• Gasket material concerns• Gasket leakage and deformation• Fatigue• Temperature design and materials concerns• Hub Separation • NACE• Design Criteria selection• Load capacities with and w/o Temperature
