    PURPOSE

    Several samples were submitted to York Laboratories Division of YWC, Inc. by Goldberg, Zoino Cf Associates, Inc. The client requested the samples be analyzed for the parameters listed in Table 1.0.

    METHODOLOGY

    Volatile organics were determined by purge and trap GC/MS. The instrumentation used was a Tekmar Dynamic Headspace Concentrator interfaced with a Hewlett-Packard Model 5995C GC/MS/DS.

    Semi-volatiles (BNA's) were determined via capillary GC/MS. The instrumentation used was a Hewlett-Packard Model 5890 gas chromatograph interfaced with a Model 5970 Mass Selective Detector.

    Pesticides/PCB's were determined using GC/ECD. The instrumentation used was a Perkin-Elmer Sigma 3 gas chromatograph equipped with an electron capture detector (Ni63). Dual column confirmation was used to confirm all positives.

    Metals were determined using atomic spectroscopy. Mercury was determined using the cold vapor method using a Perkin-

    Elmer Model 2380 AAS. All other metals were determined using a Model 6500XR ICP and a Zeeman Model 3030 AAS.

    Dioxin screening was accomplished by injecting the base-

    neutral extract into the capillary GC/MS. The sample was then compared to a previously run standard. Results are semi-quantitative.

  • Other parameters were determined using methods found in Methods for Chemical Analysis of Water and Wastes. EPA/6004-79-020 and Standard Methods for the Examination of Vater and Wastevater. 16th Edition, 1985, APHA-AWWA-WPCF.

    The results are presented in the following Tables. Attached as Appendix: A are the QA/QC and relevant raw data.
