STATUTORY CHARGES SCHEDULE FOR 2017

Generally any increase in fees and charges will take effect from 2nd January. Details of

variations from this date, for example, where a fee or charge is governed by statue, are

included in this schedule.

VAT Code Key

The current standard rate of Value Added Tax (VAT) is 20%. The schedules for fees and

charges show the rate of VAT applicable which is denoted by one of the following symbols;

1.1 CHARGES FOR LICENCES

a) The Licensing Act 2003 governs a limited range of activities. These are broadly

the sale by retail of alcohol, the supply of alcohol in qualifying members' clubs, the

provision of regulated entertainment and the provision of late night refreshment

Any person making an application or giving a notice under the 2003 Act will be

requires to pay the fees and charges as set by the government. These fees are

intended only to cover the cost of licensing authorities of their functions of the Act.

Set out below are the fee levels for the Licensing Act 2003.

i) Premises Licences/ Club Premises Certificates

The fee bands in respect of applications for the above are based on the non-

domestic rateable value of the premises.

*For an application for premises which are band D and E, and the use of the

premises is exclusively for carrying on the premises the supply of alcohol for

consumption on the premises, the feed for Band D will be two times the fee

and for band E three times the fee.

iv) Exceptionally Large Events

Where it is proposed that the number of people at any one time attending

such an event, an additional fee may be charged.

Where a permanent premises licence is obtained for a site rather than one

which is time limited for the event, the annual fee will require an additional

element to be charged at a rate of 50 per cent of the Additional Fee

v) There are a number of occasions when other fees and charges must be

paid by applicants and those giving notices;

- Supply of copy of information contained in register

- Various notifications (change of address/copies of licence etc.)

- Notice of interest in any premises

- Application to vary or specify individual as premises supervisor

Subsistence charges can be paid in four equal instalments paid on 1st April, 1st July, 1st
