This guide will be teaching you how to easily replace the modem in your computer.

T8 Torx Screwdriver (1)

Paso 1 — Keyboard

Pull the keyboard tabs toward youwhile lifting up on the keyboard untilit releases from it's hold.

To lift the keyboard out pull it up andaway from you. Then place thekeyboard on the track pad.

Paso 2

Pull the keyboard ribbon verticallyfrom the logic board to releaseconnection.

The connector may be tight anddifficult to remove. If stuck tryrocking the connector back and forthwhile pulling up until it releases.This same process can be used formany of the connectors on thisdevice.

Remove battery and CD/DVD drivesbefore proceeding any further.



Paso 3

Your computer should lookapproximately like this.

Paso 4 — RAM

Remove the two silver Phillips #1screws that attach the heat shield tothe metal framework.

Lift the heat shield up and towardyou.



Paso 5

Pull the PRAM battery cablevertically upward to disconnect it.

Remove the battery by pulling upand to the left.

Paso 6

Remove the two T8 Torx screwsthat attach the heat sink to theprocessor.

Remove the long silver Phillips #1screw from the heat sink.



Paso 7

Lift up the heat sink unit from the leftside and remove.

Paso 8

Lift the processor on the right sideand pull directly up.

The RAM chips should be in theslots on the processor.



Paso 9

After removing the RAM, your laptopshould now look like this.

Paso 10 — Modem

Remove the single black Torx screwfrom the modem.

Remove the black rectangle that isbeing held on by the one Torxscrew.



To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Using your fingers, lift the modemfrom the socket it is plugged into.

Paso 12

Disconnect the cable that isattached to the end of the modem toremove the modem.
