Please read the following carefully before completing and submitting the application form. Do I Qualify for a School Principal or School Vice-Principal Certificate? ➔A s per Teacher C ertification and S tandards R egulations S ection 18.1, the holder of a valid P E I A cadem icTeacher’s Certificate Level 6, with a minimum of seven years of approved teaching experience who has successfully completed an Administrator’s Leadership program approved by the Minister may qualify for a PEI School Principal’s Certificate. ➔A s per Teacher C ertification and S tandards R egulations S ection 18.2, the holder of a valid P E I A cadem icTeacher’s Certificate Level 5, with a minimum of five years of approved teaching experience who has successfully completed an Administrator’s Leadership program approved by the Minister may qualify for a PEI School Vice-Principal’s Certificate.

How do I apply for a School Principal or School Vice-Principal Certificate?

1. Complete this application form and submit to the address shown here below.

2. Enclose supporting documentation with your application form: a) a copy of your PEI Teacher’sLicense, a copy of an updated School Board Report, c) a copy of the Certificate of Completion of theAdministrator’s Leadership program which can be obtained from Derek McEwen atdpmcewen@edu.pe.ca.

3. Enclose a cheque or money order in the amount of $25.00 written to the Minister of Finance.Where can I Obtain the Documents that I Require to Support my Application?●To provide proof of teaching experience, you will need to provide an updated School Board Report. Toobtain an updated School Board Report you must complete and submit the form found at :http://www.gov.pe.ca/forms/pdf/2777.pdf●If you do not have a copy of your current Teaching Certificate, you can order one at:http://www.gov.pe.ca/forms/pdf/1422.pdfWhen does the School Principal or School Vice-Principal Qualification Become Effective?Your School Principal/ Vice-Principal Qualification shall be valid from the date when the Office of theRegistrar receives all required documentation. Your certificate will be mailed out to you.
