Entrance

The entrance is the first impression for the student, theparent and the teacher. It sets the tone for the experienceto come and is a combination of Serge Platz ACP andSerge Platz AHP in large-format span-type metal ceiling.

Admin

To the left and right of the entrance are the admin roomswhich sport Belgravia Pixel on Skelet Omni in gridformat. The principal’s room exudes warmth andimmediately puts nervous visitors at ease with SalonSpots MP3 microperf wood ceilings. On the opposite sidethe Record room is well served with Strand natural ceilings.

Atrium/Assembly

Atrium cum assembly area has hard reflective surfacesthat are so easy to maintain but results in a cacophonywhen energetic students get noisy. Soft Wave KLH hangingbaffles is the answer. In bright colours the Wave bafflesbrighten up the space, allow skylighting through for daylightviews to all spaces including classrooms and absorb noise.

Atrium Corridors

The atrium corridors need a smooth, seamless, unclutteredlook. A combination of Designpanel Pixel microperfgypsum and Tufbloc does the trick. If plenum access isdesired then Belgravia Pixel and Belgravia Regulamatches the seamless gypsum. We now walk around theschool premises in clockwise fashion.

Classrooms

Staffroom

Special Rooms

Art and craft activities have special needs. The MusicRoom needs sounds emanating from instruments to bepreserved and not absorbed. Entrance

The entrance lobby provides the first impression for the guestand needs to be visually striking to set the tone for therest of the journey. The entrance makes the first impression on the patient,the doctor, and the visitor. With a very low density of neat, straight joint linesdue to the large-format, and a dust/water-repellant polishedsurface finish, Platz is the way to go for entrances!

Reception

The reception is the first point of interaction and made sublimewith the use of Stretch SLS that puts anxious patients andtheir minders immediately at ease. It helps that such a ceilingfunctions as a diffuse light reflector spreading an even andwarm glow all around! Between the entrance and the receptionis the lobby the ceiling of which is cladded with Slats Beechwood ceiling. Cash / Dispensary

Next to the reception is the cash counter and the chemistfor small medicine dispensation. These functional spacesfeature Subtex Nubby texture ceilings. The tinkling ofmoney is quickly absorbed by this high performance ceiling!

Waiting Lobby

To the right of the reception is the waiting area. Thedesigners of Anutone’s Sleuth programme know thatwaiting can be a very boring pastime that visitors wouldrather avoid. What better than have an open plenum ceilingwith Wave GLD hanging baffles. These can be in bright,vibrant colours to make an otherwise dull atmosphere verycheerful. What is more, the colours can be matched orcontrasted to the colours of the sofa and chairs.

OPD

Adjoining the Waiting Lobby is the Out Patient Department whichis a constant activity space with daycare or firstaid patients comingand going quickly. What better ceiling than Matvin Shinglevinyl tiles that are antiseptic, wet-wipable, light reflecting andsound absorbing. Matvin Shingle offers a neutral background tothe hive of activity below and hence perfectly suits such spaces!

Emergency

To the left of the reception is the emergency ward, a dreadedarea! However, the languidity of Astral Aquila metal ceilings

helps to remove any such dread! The ceilings are cleanroom-standard, hence completely healthy, light reflective as thedoctors on duty need all possible light to deal with theemergencies and provide easy accessibility to the plenumabove for servicing the utilities.

Atrium

Then comes the grand showpiece of any planned hospitalbuilding - the atrium. Medical Labs

The auditorium usually is the pride of any hospital. It isa space of focal activity where the entire hospital staffcomes together on special occasions. Acoustical Performance

Carnival Floats provide greater sound absorption than acontinuous ceiling of the same surface area because thesoundwaves are absorbed from both surfaces of the float –the exposed bottom surface and the non-exposed topsurface.

Design Considerations

Only Skelet Infinity Square Edge can sport rounded corners. Steppe & Knife Edge cannot feature rounded corners.

The colour matching of Skelet Infinity and Skelet T15 / O15 / U15 to a coloured ceiling tile will achieve75-95% results as it represents two very different materials.

Floats can only be installed in a horizontal plane. It cannot be sloped or curved along its horizontal axis.

Floats like any other architectural elements located in the plenum may interfere with fire detection and suppression systems.Life safety system must be installed in the open plenum areas or penetrated through the ceiling floats.

In seismic zones additional lateral supports may become necessary. These are not included in original kits.

Floats is not for outdoor use.

Design Considerations

• The proximate distance between consecutive Shapepanels is a recommended 150mm.

• Grouping of Circle shape is not possible.

• Shapes cannot hang from existing modular ceilingsuspension system and must draw its own supportsfrom true ceiling.

• Shapes cannot support any other fixture.

• Shapes like any other ceiling element may obstruct orskew the life the safety systems like fire sprinkler heads,smoke detectors.

• The International Building Code (IBC) for seismic zoneusage allows ceiling components to swing freely as longas they do not get damaged or cause damage.

• Not recommended for exterior installation.

Wave ST baffles are designed for areas requiring excellentacoustical absorption with a ‘drywall’ look.

Use in conference rooms, auditoriums, churches,corridors, lobbies, hallways and other areas requiringboth sound absorption and a high quality custompainted finish.

Wave ST baffles come factory-finished white. Customcolours are also offered to precisely match any interiordesign palette.

Wave GLD are fabric-wrapped baffles. Fabrics areavailable in a riot of bright colours for all types ofarchitectural spaces and interior decors.

Wave KLH are vinyl-wrapped baffles available in 108colours.

Wave are hanging baffles that are used to add to theambience and reduce overall noise levels in high-ceilingcommercial, industrial, recreational and other noisyareas.

Wave baffles are suspended from the roof or ceiling aboveor from the structure near the noise source.

Being lightweight and modular, Wave baffles do not addto the structural weight and lend themselves to flexibilityin aesthetic and acoustic design.

Added advantage is that Wave baffles being verticallyinstalled, allow skylighting and visibility to beautiful roofstructures.

Being available in a range of finishes and bright colours,Wave baffles can brighten up dreary interiors anddramatically alter the looks of a place.

Actual room noise reduction can be up to 10 dBAdepending on the configuration of the space and theabsorption present before installing the Wave baffles.
