APPLIED SCIENCE
Prospectus 2017 / 18
I chose Tresham because it was a more vocational course, which was better suited to my style of learning.
APPLIED SCIENCE
Our Applied science programmes are ideal for students with a keen interest in science, who enjoy solving problems and investigating solutions to complex questions.
Our courses offer the opportunity to specialise in either forensic or medical science. If you are not quite ready to study at Level 3 then our Level 2 in Applied Science is a great way to get started on your career path.
Successful students from these courses progress to higher education, training or employment in science related careers. It is also possible to progress onto Foundation Degree courses at our own Tresham University Centre.

“I have always had an interest in science and forensics really appealed to me. The tutors are all really passionate about the subject and the campus is very modern.
Studying at college is a lot more grown up than school and the tutors trust you to get the work done. I have really enjoyed the practical activities we have done about investigating a crime scene, which involves taking photographic evidence and dusting for fingerprints.”

“My parents both work in the science industry so it has been a natural step for me to focus on medical science. The tutors are very helpful and they push you to achieve your potential.
As part of the course I have been on a work experience placement at Unilever, a research and development company. It’s been a great learning opportunity and has led to me applying for an apprenticeship with them.”
