Joint Consultants CommitteeThis committee welcomed a proposal that a vacancy among
the 10 representatives of the British Medical Association’scentral consultants and specialists committee should be filledby a junior hospital doctor.At a meeting on Jan. 26, the Ministry of Health confirmed
that the Joint Consultants’ Committee remains the recognisednegotiating body with the Ministry (and with the managementside of the appropriate Whitley Council) on behalf of all gradesof medical and dental Staff in the hospital service.
