The Brief

One of Europe’s largest retailers came to Apposing with a plan to help users manage their tariff. Unlike other offerings from networks, they wanted live data taken from the handset itself, and offer users information that could be used when buying their next tariff.

The Solution

Apposing designed and developed a handy new mobile app for Carphone Warehouse which allows users to take full control of their tariff. ‘Bill Angel’ will monitor the user’s call, text and web use, updating the easy to use interface with live results.

The Outcome

Across all major platforms, users get handy charts and graphs detailing which applications are eating up their data allowance or which day of the week they send the most texts. ‘Bill Angel’ also sends users a push notification when they’re nearing their limit.

Taking sofa retailing to another level!

The BriefCSL came to Apposing with a challenge. How can technology take buying a sofa to another level? As one of the UK’s largest sofa retailers, they wanted to expand into the iPhone market and capture the potential revenue of the busy Christmas period.

The SolutionApposing designed and developed a unique augmented reality app that would allow users to see every CSL sofa in their own room. Users would then be able to take a picture and share to social network sites.

The OutcomeDeveloped and released on a strict time schedule, the CSL app was released to much publicity just before Christmas 2011. Over the Christmas period it reached the Top 10 of the Lifestyle category and achieved more than 50,000 downloads within a month.

Persil WhitenessThe Brief

Persil presented us at Apposing with a task. They needed an app to emphasize how effective their products are at maintaining the whiteness of the clothes and to show users how efficient both Persil and Persil

ultimate are at removing tough stains from clothes.

The Solution

We used the iPhone’s camera in order to show users how effective the products are on the clothes they currently own, allowing them to visualize how successful the Persil products are. With the user’s image, the app conducts a ‘whiteness test’ to show how much the whiteness of the clothes deteriorate over a period of washes, and compare how much of the whiteness is preserved when using Persil’s various products during washes. Lastly, a stain removal function is built into the app, allowing the users to compare how effective each

product is at removing stains from their white clothing.

The Outcome

Persil loved the app, which was developed for iOS and was created as a prototype for research and development, of which we are now working on a full version.

Christmas went with a boom at Nandos!

The Brief

We were tasked with developing a Nandos themed Christmas experience, incorporating the traditional ‘cracker pull’, jokes, games and cutting edge mobile technology.

The Solution

Using the device accelerometer and Bluetooth connectivity, the Nandos Crackalaka Boom app allows users to physically pull their phones like a Christmas cracker. Waiting inside are Nandos themed jokes, a tile puzzle game and the very popular ‘North Pole-aroid’ feature that allows users to play festive dress-up before sharing a photo to social media.

The Outcome

Developed for iOS and Android, the app was downloaded over 30,000times over the Christmas period. 30,000 DOWNLOADS

JoinSAM

The Brief

Join SAM is designed to help families and young children earn and save money through an educational, easy to use and fun experience. Apposing was tasked with developing an app that needed to be slick, fun, attractive and secure.

The Solution

Money can be deposited into the Join SAM account via credit or debit card. Users place this into ‘moneyboxes’ for their savings with goals attached to each one, such as £100 for a new bike, or £50 for a new PlayStation game. Users can earn badges by completing challenges and parents can challenge their children to clean the dishes or finish all their homework in exchange for financial reward. Money can also be withdrawn from the account - hopefully once goals have been reached!

The Outcome

The app will be available for download from the App Store in November 2014.

Sofaworks Gogglebox ‘Gogglebooth’ app

The Brief

Sofaworks wanted an app that could be used alongside their new ‘gogglebooth’ campaign that is featured in various Sofaworks stores throughout the country. The app needed to be interactive and also

promote the show Gogglebox on Channel 4.

The Solution

The app we have created was designed and developed to entertain users by testing their knowledge on a Gogglebox themed quiz, featuring questions related to the show. The quiz would reward all participants with a free prize simply for taking part. To share their experience with friends, we have presented users with the option to take a photo of themselves imitating ‘Neal the sloth’ and upload their

photos to social networks, using #sofasloths.

The Outcome

The app has been created on a tight schedule for use alongside the ‘Gogglebooth’ campaign, which will feature in many Sofaworks stores in the country.

MyIFB The official app for the International Festival for Business 2014

The Brief

The International Festival for Business (IFB) 2014 is the largest global concentration of business events during 2014. The 50-day festival runs across 7 weeks in June and July and will attract business delegates and trade intermediaries from around the world.

The Solution

We were tasked with creating the MyIFB app to enhance the delegate experience. The app allows delegates to view all events, build a personal itinerary, plan journeys with estimated drive/walk times to venues, view profiles, connect and chat to other members for networking and much more.

The Outcome

One of the main features we introduced to the project was the use of Estimote iBeacons that were then embedded in every venue. These low frequency Bluetooth devices allowed us to send contextualised push messages to delegates and also automatically log the attendance of delegates at events around the city.

We also implemented a virtual handshake, allowing app users to exchange contact information for future business opportunities by shaking their phones together like a handshake.

iOS and Android app to modernise Revival Books

The Brief

Revival Books required native iOS and Android apps for their subsidiary brands We Buy Books and We Buy Games to modernise the way their customers traded in unwanted items for cash.

The Solution

Apposing designed and developed the app for both brands to allow users to scan unwanted CDs, books, DVDs and games using the camera on their device. Users are given a price for each item and can arrange completion of their transaction directly from their smartphone, even if they’ve never used the service before.

The Outcome

The apps for both brands will launch on iOS and Android in early June 2014.

Developing the future of connectedapps.

The Brief

Our ability to blend striking design with pioneering de-velopment led the BBC straight to us. They had a simple question: ‘How could apps communicate with each other more efficiently?’

The Solution

Apposing developed four key user-models that demon-strated how apps can communicate using ‘deep links’. These apps not only communicate between iOS devices, but also from iOS to Android and vice-versa.

The Outcome

The user experience and solution were designed and developed by Apposing in under a month with outstand-ing results. The BBC were so impressed they plan to work with Apposing again.
