1. Define your research field and relate your readings and writings to it.

2. Start early. Talk about your topic choice with your professors.

3. Write and rewrite. Keep adding new ideas to your writing. Don't panic and take it as a good sign.

4. Improve your paper with the feedback from professors. Talk about the feedback with your professors.

5. Pay attention to the academic terms in the field and add them to your paper.

3. What, or how much, help can you (expect to) get from your professor in turning a term paper into an article? Who else might offer assistance in this process?

4. What is your experience with the submission process – dealing with the editors, waiting times, blind reviews, etc.?

5. What is your experience with co-authoring an article? What does it mean – in practice and in terms of recognition (for SSHRC, jobs etc.) to be second (or third) author?

6. What is your experience with rejections (including revise, submit, reject)?

7. Do you ever feel as though you could not edit any more but receive feedback that requires this very process? How do you deal with this?

8. What are the different kinds of term papers we can write? I’ve heard about reflection papers and case studies. Are there other kinds? What are the general characteristics of these?
