Main Forms of Malnutrition• Window of opportunity: -9 to 24 months
• Underweight (as measure in MDG1)
– 11-14% of children are born underweight
• Micronutrient malnutrition
• Iron deficiency anaemia
– 60-75% among children
– 40-60% in women of child bearing age
– Main source of death (in women and pre-term mortality)
– Huge effect on physical productivity
