Specific issue addressed
This app has been developed for people who are technically behind, it will provide them with tips and
guides when they face an issue. The guides range from simple tasks to the more advanced tasks.
Core question
How do I use this?
Key insights
Over the internet there are thousands of posts all over the place where people are asking for tips and guides on how to perform tasks and execute them. The app would be useful as it
would provide all the support in one area.
Mini Elevator Pitch
Team nice dynamite, Is developing a mobile application which is intended to aid the technically behind who need support in using a
device or performing a specific action.
Elderly
With the elderly we have learned that a lot of them don’t truly know how to work nowadays technology.
Teenagers/Young AdultsWhere as with teenagers and young adults they don’t have the patience
to learn how to use technology and try to rush in.
Because of this we believe these are the 2 best users for our devices.
Within this market their aren’t any true competitors for what we are aiming to do, however similar projects are done by software companies to teach them how to use there software but there are not that many
apps for this market.
MVP user stories and feature chosen
The core feature of our app is an informative and teaching tool for users who are new to certain areas of technology.
The App will have information about different areas from how to fully utilise your tablet, to how to set up a basic PC.
Anyone can use the app as the interface will be simple and easy to follow for users of any technological level. There will also be guides for the more advanced users.
A story of one of our more recent questions was from a 40 year old women who wanted to know how she can stop applications from opening on PC bootup. In simple Terms we
explained to her that she has to open the MSCONFIG section and go to the startup tab, and from there simply uncheck the applications.
When the user opens up the app they will be asked to log in, once they have logged in they will be at the main page. From the main page the user will have a few options available. They will be able to ask a question, they will be able to answer and there will be a tab where they will be able to see similar questions to what they
have asked. The feature which we added based on user feedback was to be able to see related questions.
Our app will heavily rely on data because of the nature of the app. It will all be internet based as user will allways be loading up a
page. In terms of bandwidth and data usage the app won’t be as heavy as the majority of pages will be text based and the more
longer guides will feature images.
The app will feature a variety of different content, The app will start off by being based as a tech guide but it will eventually
evolve into something more. It will become a must have app as it will start to feature everyday stuff such as alarms, reminders etc.
When it comes to the technical feasability of an app like this, I think there isn’t much to it in its current stage. As most of the content on the pages will be text based so a simple server to
preset these pages will be usable.
With this app we decided to go with a simple business model. We did
this because we believe with a app like this, We don’t need to go overboard with advertising and marketing because we believe people
who face these issues will come across the app. We found that customrs were happy to pay £1.59 for this app.
The way in which we intend for this app to spread is to build up a small community first, Once we have we are hopeing that stores
like currys and pc world will offer this app as a default app that can be installed when they set up a new device for customers. That
way, users will have support from the start.
