e-WOOF is a bi-monthly e-newsletter produced by a small group of Wyoming dog rescuers in an effort to high-light shelter dogs in critical need of help.
e-WOOF spotlights many dogs that face euthanasia within days unless they are rescued, fostered, or adopted.
Transport can be arranged, in most cases, to approved adoptive or foster homes or rescue organizations. Please help us! These are good, healthy, happy, lov-ing dogs that are out of luck and out of time. We urge you to crosspost to e-mail lists and Web groups, forward to friends, send to co-workers, and share with family. We hope our efforts, combined with yours, will save many lives.

APACHE is a six-year-old Australian Shepherd/possibly English Setter mix. Apache’s owner passed away and now he needs a home. Apache has only had the one home all his life. He is very friendly, completely housetrained, and used to being indoors, with a yard to spend some time in. He is not overly active and would make a good companion for an elderly person. He needs to lose some weight.
PITA & COLTON: PITA is a four-year-old Dachshund/Pomeranian mix. She came in with Colten, a two-year-old boxer/lab mix, and the two
dogs would prefer to get a new home together. Being a little bundle of cuteness, Pita likes to be held. She is a little overweight, but she agrees to work on that with walks, which she loves. She may seem shy, but does wonderfully once she gets to know you. Pita gets along okay with other dogs, but no cats. She is also great with kids and is totally housebroken.
COLTON is a two-year-old black Boxer/possibly Labrador Retriever mix. He may seem a little nervous and loud, but it doesn’t take long for Colton to show you he has love for you. He gets along ok with other dogs but would do best in a home with no cats. Colton likes to stand up and give hugs, enjoys walks and loves kids. He is totally housebroken. He came in with Pita, a Dachshund/Pomeranian mix, and is very gentle and protective of her. He loves his girl and will follow her off leash if you’re walking her on leash. They would prefer to go to the same home but can be adopted separately.

JAKE is a 10 year old Cattle Dog mix. He came to the shelter from a bad situation where he was abandoned in a home with a couple of other dogs. They were locked inside for very long periods of time. He would be best in a home without cats or children, but does well with other dogs. This older guy is just very eager to please and deserves a great home!

MIA is a 5 year old female Treeing Walker Coonhound mix. She came to us because her owners were moving and could not take her with them. She was raised around children so she would be a wonderful family dog. She would do best in a home without other dogs and without cats. She is a very affectionate and sweet girl who loves everyone!
WILBUR is a 4 year old Pit Bull. He was brought to the shelter after he and his female companion were found running on the highway outside of Thermopolis tied
together. Someone must have put some work into these dogs because Wilbur knows how to sit, shake, speak, and sit pretty. The staff has fallen in love with this sweetheart; he loves affection and loves to play. He likes to roll on his back while someone rubs his belly, and he also loves tug-of-war (he does “drop it” when you ask him to!) He has a great temperament, but would be best in a home without cats.
UPDATES: We are happy to report that after almost 4 years at the shelter

DROVER is a loveable pup who has had little direction so far in his short life. He is a dog who still acts very much like a puppy, but since coming into his foster home has made fantastic progress with obedience training. Drover loves to run around and play chase with his foster siblings or wrestle with them in the grass. Drover is a gentle hugger, he loves to crawl into his foster Dad’s lap and rest his head on his chest. All-around, he is a very gentle pup. Drover is a wonderful dog who needs someone who is confident and patient in training. He needs a home that can give him the rest of the direction he needs, and will make a great addition to his new family!
HARLEY has made it his mission to be a loyal companion to his people and he wants to go with you wherever you go. Harley seems to get slightly anxious that you aren’t going to come back so he can be nervous and vocal when left for long periods of time. His foster family is working with him to get him more comfortable with this and are sure with some time and patience this anxiety is something he could overcome. Once you are home he is extremely quiet, sweet, funny , and just an all around easy going guy. If you are ready to help Harley continue to learn what it is like to be a loved part of the family please apply to meet him today!
PLEASE NOTE: Time is of the essence for helping the dogs
featured in the e-WOOF newsletters. Please contact the name/numbers for each
dog before contacting e-WOOF.
In most cases, time is limited for the dogs featured in our newsletters-with that in mind, we try to get the word out to as many contacts as we can using this publication. Work on behalf of the animals for finding them homes and/or rescues comes from many, many sources and is an ONGOING effort dealt with a sense of urgency. In some cases there may be times when a sudden adoption and/or rescue comes through at the exact time our newsletter is issued. This is an unforeseen circumstance on our part---while we certainly understand the “crossover” may cause frustrations for you as the prospective adopter of an animal we hope you join us in rejoicing for an animal being saved. We appreciate and thank you for your continued
support FOR THE ANIMALS!

FINNIGAN is one happy, confidant fella who knows how to strike a good balance between play and lounge time while in the house. He has done very well with greeting strangers, other dogs, and smaller pets, and is comfortable with being crated for the day. He is pretty quiet in the house and while he does love attention, he does not love to be held or coddled. He is a little dog with a big personality!
SPECIAL NOTE: BDAR is now accepting vendor registrations for our 2014 Summer Mutt Fair held on Saturday, June 14 at Lions Park in Cheyenne. More information can be found here: http://www.bdar.org/summer-mutt-fair/

The Easter feeling does not end.
It signals a new beginning,
Of nature, spring, and brand new life,
And friendship, peace, and giving.

MAX is 5 years old. He is a smart, playful, and sensitive dog looking for a new home. His owner must surrender him because of financial circumstances beyond her control. Max is great with kids, puppies, cats, and female dogs; he can be wary of some male dogs. He is fit and healthy with the exception of a little arthritis for which he takes medicine. He is so eager to please his people, he wants nothing more than a family of his own. He is still with his owner while we work to find him the perfect home. Max is in the Albuquerque area, but has easy transport to Colorado, if needed. His owner would be glad to talk to anyone interested in this great dog. To see more photos and a video of Max playing with his cat friend, please see http://www.westernaustralianshepherdrescue.com/available-dogs.html
