3. MISSION AND QUALITY POLICY
In this chapter M3T, METALOMECÂNICA 3 TRIÂNGULOS, LDA ambition, business purpose
and quality policy are presented, these are values that conduct the company’s activity and
consolidate its culture.
The company has developed a QMS that is based on the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008
standard and aimed at achieving the continuous improvement of its efficacy.
3.1. MISSION
Our company’s mission is to execute an effective management aimed at achieving continuous
improvement and guaranteeing our clients and partners satisfaction.
Supplying a service of excellence to all our customers.
These objectives are achieved by presenting a service that is based on:
A young, dynamic, flexible and qualified team;
Using the most advanced technology to achieve de best quality;
Implementing an operational efficacy able to meet the costumer’s expectation;
Motivation and commitment when it comes to meeting the agreed deadlines.
As a result of its commitment, the company defines its global management strategy reflected in
its Quality Policy and based on the requirements and specifications of the ISO 9001 standard.
In accordance to that standard the company created a documental system, in which the most
important document is the Quality Manual.
3.2. QUALITY POLICY
The company’s Quality Policy is materialized in Objectives, those Objectives are extremely
useful for a continuous improvement of its corporate strategy.
In order to fulfil its Mission, the company aims at offering a quality service by providing its
competences to costumers and assure that their needs and expectations are met, and thus
keeping respect for its values.
Taking in account this benchmark, the company’s activity is developed in accordance to the
legal requirements defined for said activity and is backed by the following principles of its
Quality Policy:
I. The commitment to Quality Management taken on by the company must be
systematically and progressively reviewed and shared with all the management team.

4. PROCEDURES
The operationalisation of M3T’s business activity is supported by its procedures, which can be
ranked as business procedures, core procedures or support procedures.
Business Procedures – these procedures contemplate the activity’s related to the corporate’s
global management, namely the definition of the strategic guidelines (vision and mission),
activity planning, quality management and communication strategies, internal as well as
external.
Core Procedures – these procedures concern to the service provision and add value for the
costumer, they include the company’s commercial activity.
Support Procedures – these procedures include the activities connected to the administrative
and financial support, human resources management, workplace safety, equipment
management (both activity specific and IT) and facilities management, they contemplate the
supervision of all of M3T’s activity.
4.1. COSTUMER FOCUS
The costumer is the focus of M3T’s activity and his satisfaction and retention are our main
concerns.
A methodology is defined that identifies the requirements of each type of costumer according to
the requested service or product, this methodology as the goal of assuring that the costumer’s
needs and expectations are well defined and converted to requirements, that must be fully
understood and met.

Taking this into account, a procedure is defined that allows us to ascertain our costumers’
opinions and to satisfy their complaints, so that they are considered in the accomplishment of
improvements in our products and services. The collected information and the implementation
of improvements are aimed at increasing our costumers’ satisfaction and achieving a higher
level of retention of those costumers.
5. ACTIVITY
This chapter serves the purpose of describing the business activity of M3T,
METALOMECÂNICA 3 TRIÂNGULOS, LDA, with emphasis on presenting the operational
proceedings.
5.1. PRODUCTION ACTIVITY
The company’s activity is supported by its Quality Management System, which is structured in
accordance the guidelines of the ISO 9001:2008 standard.
In the scope of its corporate purpose M3T is qualified to offer the following services:
High precision, normal and large parts turning;
Milling and machining centres;
Cutting (HD plasma, 5 axis waterjet, laser, guillotine and oxy cut);
Bending (conventional and CNC);
Metal structure and tank manufacturing;
Painting (airless painting booth).
The products manufactured by M3T strictly follow the applicable existing standards, when it
comes to manufacturing, product quality and quality requirements. Taking this into account, our
company has the necessary means and has perfectly identified the adequate control
techniques to meet our costumers’ needs.
Work instructions exist that describe, for each production phase, how to execute the required
tasks, the existing control and self-control, the required materials, the applicable acceptation
criteria and the form used to register the results of the control that was carried out.
In each production phase, the processed products are segregated from the non-processed and
the accepted products are segregated from the non-accepted. At all moments the semi-finished
products are kept identified by the work order and by the manufacturing and control forms.
All products inside our facilities are identified so that their inspection status is always known.
M3T employs professionals with high levels of preparation and experience, team spirit, integrity
and work ethic.

M3T assures that all the tasks of each job are executed by employees qualified for those tasks
and that the performance of these employees is evaluated in order to identify the need for
formation, in search of a continuous adaptation to the technical requirements that the activity’s
specificity demands.

5.2. COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY
During the commercial management an intense and direct communication with the costumer is
carried out, particularly when it comes to the products offered by the company, the issue of
proposals and contracts and the handling of requests and subsequent modifications.
The company’s sales representatives are permanent links with all of our customers, creating an
appropriate way for handling possible complaints, including the satisfaction of the costumers by
the supplied product or service. Additionally, a costumer’s complaint will be documented and
the appropriated treatment will be applied, such that the complaint can be evaluated and
measures taken to avoid that it happens again.
When a proposal is elaborated, the control and revision of that proposal is carried out to assure
that it encompasses all the costumer specified requirements concerning the product, delivery,
packaging, payment, legal compliance and others.
Before a contract is closed out or a customer order is accepted, a revision of its contents is
carried out, particularly when it comes to differences relative to previous offerings or contracts,
to assure that all requirements are well defined and that the company can undertake that order
within the stipulated deadline.
Any existing discrepancies are communicated to the client, changing the contract’s or order’s
conditions.

5.3. WORKFLOW DIAGRAM
The following diagram describes, in a brief way, M3T’s workflow, from the arrival of the
costumer’s order until the delivery of the product.
6. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
The introduction of improvements is accomplished by defining concrete actions, that are based
on a consistent decision-making, resulting from the analysis of data concerning the business’s
performance and the confrontation of said data with the established objectives.
The management of those actions is executed accordingly to the proceedings carried out by
the company, namely:
M3T guarantees the collection of relevant data and information that allows it to analyse
its performance and by doing so, taking sustained decisions that lead to improvement.
M3T assures the professional and personal development of its employees, in order to
guarantee the qualification and competence of its human resources. We are aware that
the adequate formation of our staff is essential to system’s improvement. Taking that
into account, we have established the necessary means to detect and plan our staff’s
need for formation, additionally we evaluate the efficiency of the provided formation,
particularly when it comes to the incorporation of new employees, changing of a work
post or the introduction of new activities, products or processes in our system.
At M3T meetings are frequently held were we evaluate the need for improvements,
alterations and extension of the infra-structure, in relation to buildings, workspace and
related services, but also when the required equipment is concerned, like machinery,
furniture, hardware and support services, like transports and communication.

M3T keeps control of its work equipment condition, assuring that any occurrence that
can delay the activities and impair the service offered to the costumer never happens.
The existing software is also controlled and our IT system’s anti-virus is kept up to date.
In general, we assure the maintenance of all our equipment and that maintenance is
executed by specialized personnel or companies.
M3T takes the utmost attention to the conditions in which our staff’s activities take place
and to others factors that may influence the compliance of our products. To do so the
company imposes health a safety rules that must be respected at all times. Besides
those basic rules we have work ethics rules, based on the values of rigour, order and
personal initiative.
M3T resorts to suppliers and service providers, it carries on a rigorous market inquiry,
selecting the most adequate suppliers and service providers and placing orders
accordingly to its needs.
M3T maintains a regular presence in business fairs and conferences, it does so to
identify and stimulate the collection of new businesses, identify new opportunities or
technologies and to keep track of the industry’s current requirements, so that it’s able to
adapt to those requirements.
7. SUPPLIERS AND COSTUMERS
This chapter serves the purpose of describing the existing relations with the suppliers and to
present M3T’s main costumers, highlighting the most relevant ones.
7.1. SUPPLIERS
M3T acquires products and services from suppliers that are evaluated in order to assure that
they meet the requirements specified by our company.
All new suppliers go through an evaluation process before being included on our suppliers list.
An evaluation of all our suppliers is performed annually, taking into account the frequency of
supplies and other previously defined criteria.
Our receiving personnel is responsible for receiving and inspecting the acquired products, in
order to check its compliance and make sure that those products meet the specified
requirements before being put to use in productive process. This task is executed taking into
account the classification of the supplier and the influence of the received product in the quality
of the final product.
