MEMORANDUM:
To: Mayors of Member Municipalities Re: 47th Annual Sydenham River Canoe and Kayak Race
Once again, it is time for the ever-popular Sydenham River Canoe and Kayak Race.
We invite you, members of council and staff to participate in the V.I.P. race on Sunday, April 28, 2019. It is a relatively short course (all downstream) and there are no dangerous rapids. Everyone who participates really enjoy themselves.
The race is a fund-raiser for Conservation For Kids, a program that brings school children out to Conservation Areas to experience nature and conservation first-hand. We were very pleased to raise approximately $3,000 in 2017. Participation through gaining sponsorships, however, is totally voluntary and is not a prerequisite to join in the fun.
We have included a digital version of the flyer for your information and hope you will forward it to your council and staff and also arrange for posting in your municipal office. A digital version is available online at www.scrca.on.ca under events. If you have any questions regarding the race please contact Sharon Nethercott at 519-882-2399.
We hope you plan to participate in this fun event.
Yours truly,
Brian McDougall General Manager
