Mission Spotlight: Only 20% of people in Miami identify them-selves as Evangelical Christians. As the culture changed in the ‘60s and ‘70s, many in south Florida were left with negative feelings about the church. Church planters Muche and Diamone Ukegbu seek to minister to the whole person in order to share the gospel. The Ukegbus launched the Brook Church in April, 2015. “60% of our church is African-American, including 30% Haitians and Jamaicans. Another 20% are Latino, 10% Caucasian, and 10% other,” says Muche. Pray God will raise up seasoned leaders to help shepherd the people. Pray for God to expand the ministry of the Brook Church to teach people to passionately follow Christ.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Timothy Gibson has been called as the 15th pastor of Winstanley Baptist Church. Timothy, his wife Brooke and sons Whitman and Chamblin will be moving to the Metro-East at the end of the current school year.

His first Sunday in the pulpit will be May 26. We look forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for Winstanley as we begin this new chapter in our service for the Lord. We welcome the Gibson's to the Winstanley branch of the Family of God. Our van ministry is imperative for those who have no transportation and we urgently need to replace our 22 yr. old van both for the protection and comfort of those who ride. We would also like to make it accessible to those who are handicapped. The transportation committee have been discussing investing in a shuttle that is 2 years old for $46,000. It is a 15 passen-ger shuttle, mileage is 20,000, and it has 2 wheelchair capacity. The committee is asking for you help in purchasing the van. There is a van fund that has started towards this need. To-date there is $17,408 in this fund.
