So far the spring season has simply been a continuation of our busy winter.
Our first trip out was to Oak Creek in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania for the 2nd Annual Chapter Leader
Summit. We had a great time with our region leaders and a few Heartland friends. Those camping for the
weekend included John & Deb Bylinski, Greg & Beth Dean, Mike & Ann Walker, John & Mary Ann Proto,
Jim & Colleen Marigliano and Jim & Geri Reyes. We were visited on Friday by Glenn and Fran Schaaf who
were camping in the area. We also had a visit on Saturday from Paul and Vicky Lopiccolo who were going
through HOC withdrawl! The leaders held a 2013 planning meeting on Friday attended by John & Deb, Greg
& Beth (NY), Mike & Ann (MD), Cheryl & Jim Horst (DE) and Nona Gruner (PA). Naturally, there was some
eating to do and we opted for a group photo after dinner at the Shady Maple.

In addition to the Shady Maple there was a home-style dinner at the Plain and Fancy Farm Restaurant and an
Easter Sunday ham and pot luck feast. There were a few campfires before the winds set in and an Easter Egg
Pluck for a couple of the new Northeast Region coffee cups. Congratulations to the winners!
Please remember that Easter weekend is the Annual Northeast Chapter Leaders Summit and you all are invited
to camp with us where ever we are for the weekend. We will be holding this event in the Lancaster area again
next year so please plan come and join us as you are all welcome!

All state level rallies in the region have been announced and planning is well underway! Please try to attend at
least one of these events this year. If you have not been to a HOC Rally, once you do you will be pleasantly
surprised with the company and the events. Our chapter leaders put on some really nice rallies and their hard
work always gives dividends repaid by the smiles on your faces. When you attend one rally you will then be-
come a member of “Rally-holics”. Rally-holics meetings are held where ever we happen to congregate for the
weekend. Be it at a scheduled rally or an informal camp-out, you will truly enjoy your Heartland product more
once you have experienced the friendship that attending a rally will foster.

The Northeast Region is proud of taking part in a Heartland Gives
back at every rally in the region. The Northeast Region Rally this
year will be donating to the Roe-Jan Food Pantry. The pantry is run
strictly from donations by the Hillsdale Methodist Church. The Pan-
try serves needy residents of Hillsdale, Copake, Ancram and Gallatin.
Pennsylvania will be participating in a Red Cross Blood Drive as a part of the Emergency Responders Week-
end at Friendship Village. They will also be collecting items for a local animal shelter.
Maryland will be collecting donations for GOLD which is a group assisting homeless and foster placements
in the local area.
The New York, New Jersey and Delaware Initiatives are still in the planning stages so we will let you know
about them as soon as their plans are firm .

Lets talk about the First Northeast Region Rally In Copake, NY. We are just shy of having half
of our 50 sites booked. Our sites have to be returned to the campground on July 15th. After that
date there may or may not be sites available with the group. If you are on the fence about at-
tending this rally, please give it some serious consideration now. We would like to have all of
our members sited together except for Jim Beletti. Jim will be flying in for this event and will
be leaving his Landmark at home! We will do what ever we can to make his stay in his rental
quarters a pleasant one. We are pleased that he will be on hand when we make history.
This will be an event chock full of activities on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Our draft agenda
is nearing completion but here are some highlights we think you will be interested in. There
will be an out-trip to the NY Museum of Firefighting, a pot luck dinner and “Kickin’ Up Dust”
fireside music and dancing on Friday. Saturday there will be a full breakfast prepared by our
Northeast Region Chapter Leaders, games, a Dometic Appliance Seminar with a Hot Dog
luncheon, prize giveaways and a Murder Mystery Dinner theater in the evening. Sunday we
will host a continental breakfast, an out trip to the Balloon Festival, a Wine and Cheese party
and a second pot luck dinner. All of these activities are included with your campsite reserva-
tion. There are no additional charges for any of these events.
Our early arrivals will be asked to volunteer on Thursday with our Rally Bag preparation, Any-
one interested in this volunteer opportunity can let us know in New York. There is no need to
pre-arrange your participation.
Did I mention prizes and giveaways??? They can be yours throughout the weekend of Septem-
ber 28-30, 2012. All you have to do to win is make a reservation to be with us when we make
Heartland Owners Club history and be there when your number is called. Want an idea of
what we are giving away? OK, we’ll do that….
