April Calendar

I love this time of the year when daylight savings time arrives. The days gradually

get longer and winter is behind us. It allows us to spend more time outside and

cherish the beauty that surrounds us.

Springtime is an ideal time to think about new possibilities and visions for the

future. Philippians 3:13-14 says, “Forgetting those things which are behind, and

reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the

prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

It is a blessing to know that in God’s eyes, our past is the past. We can bring our

faults and failures to the cross, forget the bad stuff, cherish the good stuff , and

“spring forward” with joy and anticipation for the wonderful plans He has waiting

for us.

Enjoy the blessings and beauty of spring.

Happy Easter!

~ Debbie

Our PTA Board has been working hard at planning this year’s Spring Fling which is set for Tuesday, April 28 from 6:00-8:00pm.

The PTA’s theme this year is Parent Appreciation and they have a lot of activities planned for the evening.

Dinner will be provided at no cost for a family up to 6 people to express our appreciation for partnering with SUMC Preschool &

Kindergarten for your child’s early childhood education. The menu features pizza, salad, and ice cream from Brusters.

An interactive Science Show will be presented to all that attend. Furthermore, Jackie Attaway, our Art Teacher, will host an Art

Show featuring your child’s art work. Lastly, families will get the opportunity to enjoy our Scholastic Book Fair. A large variety

of books for the entire family will be available and they are all “Buy One, Get One Free”! It’s a perfect time to pick up extra

books for summer reading.

Please complete the Spring Fling reservation flyer that will come home after Spring Break to allow us to prepare for enough

pizza and ice cream.

Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers are needed to help with this fabulous event. There are lots of opportunities to

serve dinner, work in the ice cream station, work the Book Fair and Art Show, assist with

clean-up, etc. If you are gifted in any of these areas, we would love to talk with you about

assisting us at the event. For more information, please email Julie Welch at

[email protected].

Thanks to everyone who helped make our Spring Consignment

Sale such a huge success! To those who helped with the initial

set-up, checked in sellers, volunteered your time to assure a

pleasant shopping experience for our customers, donated

clothing to the preschool, sorted, cleaned-up, etc. (the list

could go on and on), we thank you!!

Thanks also to our Consignment Sale Board Members who

meet throughout the entire year (10 months out of 12) to plan

and organize this phenomenal fundraising event!!!

On Friday, May 1 our 4’s and Kindergarten classes will experience a cafeteria style
