2020 has certainly been an interesting year for the Zeno- bia Shrine Circus. The March Circus was postponed, due to the coronavirus. Once our venue, Seagate Centre, was closed by Lucas County one week before opening night, we scrambled to sort things out and notify all directly involved in the Circus. A big “THANK YOU” goes to Teri and Dick, who spent the days immedi- ately following the announce- ment, answering the numerous calls and questions, while also helping in finding options we had available. Appreciation is extended to the help of Ill. Sir Durain and his Divan, by as- sisting and attending special meetings to discuss our status. Since that initial closure, everything in the community closed and the Grand Master stopped all Masonic meetings until May 10. The time and ef- fort put into the preparations for the Circus by the Circus Committee is greatly appreci- ated. This effort will not be wasted. Elsewhere in this issue is the information about tickets that had already been pur- chased. Currently, it appears that the Circus will be rescheduled for October 15- 18, 2020. It will contain all the parts that would have hap- pened in the March Circus. If you were scheduled to help in some way at the Circus, we in- vite you to be that part in this rescheduled event. The days of the week, the times of the per- formances and the activities at the Circus will all continue. Make your plans now and save these dates. Circus Commit- tee, keep your contacts as we are having a fall Circus! Tickets previously sold are still good for the future show based on day and perform- ance. The program books are up-to-date, the novelties are good and snow cones/cotton candy will be ready. THE SHOW WILL GO ON! October has just become a very busy month for Zenobia. With the Sportsmen Extrava- ganza on October 3, then two weeks later the Circus, the No- bles and friends of Zenobia are going to be quite involved. Thank you, in advance, for your willingness to participate in each event. SEE YOU AT THE CIRCUS! Things have changed drastically in the world and in our Temple in the last two weeks (since I submitted my original article). My original article talked about the exciting events we had coming up: the Circus, Friendship Night, Ceremonial, Onion sales, Potentate’s Party. We are living in historic times and some- thing none of us could have ever imagined or prepared for, but it’s times like these that our great fraternity comes into play. It’s time to call each other and make sure we all have everything we need, and we are doing okay. As everyone should be aware, the Grand Master has issued an edict, with the backing of the Imperial Potentate, that no Masonic meetings, events or appendant bodies can meet until at least May 10. Our Circus Director has been working diligently since the day of the edict to try to get a date set for later in the year to resched- ule the Circus. We will be looking for a date to reschedule Cere- monial and a Friendship Night prior to that. As of March 18, 2020, Ill. Sir Tuttle and myself are in close contact with the pos- sibility of Onion sales still happening and we will notify you as soon as we know what is going on. As of right now, the Pote’s party will not be on May 2 or at the Park Inn. We are looking to reschedule to a later date and will let you know as soon as we have a date and venue. On a brighter note, the Pote’s trip is still on as planned for June 5-7, 2020. We will be going to Erie, Pennsylvania, in conjunction with the Erie Hospital open house. Durain, Potentate UNDER THE BIG TOP Dear Noble: Grace and Peace to you and yours in the name of the Great Creator. Slowly winter relinquishes its cold hand upon us. The warm sun of spring has brought to bud the early flowers and many trees are showing signs of new growth. How clearly can we see the hand of our Cre- ator God as the season awakens and the world around us comes alive. As Shrine/Masons, we too must come alive to the obliga- tions we have made. Just as the brightness of a new season of growing is all around us so too is the opportunity to grow our fraternity. We, each of us, know The SeaGate Centre was closed by the Lucas County Officials until April something due to “The Virus”. That meant we had no place to hold our Circus and it had to be can- celed. We are in the process of trying to reschedule, that in- volves SeaGate, the Circus and others. Will advise when we get Circus rescheduled. Thank you to all who were ready to work the Circus. Saturday, April 18, is the next Zenobia Ceremonial. It will be held at Zenobia in Per- rysburg. Look for the petition in this copy of the Hadji and see if you can have a Mason become a Shriner. Noble Steve Hessler is our Membership Chairman, and I believe he can give you pointers on how to fill out the petition. Bring a poten- tial member to the Friendship Night on April 3, and he can become a Shriner on April 18. Onion time will be here at the end of April, in time for the first weekend in May. Please get your orders in early so you can be sure you have onions. We have a limited number for sale and will not be ordering more. They are $12.00 per bag with units and clubs getting a two-dollar commission for sell- ing onions. Our stated meeting in April is on Thursday, April 9. Please bring in a petition and join us to find out what is happening at your Shrine. Yours in the Faith, Dick Fries, Recorder “Good Men and True” who could become a faithful brother. Like the dormant flower, that awaits only the sun to warm the earth and give it new life, we can share the warmth of our fraternal bonds and awaken them to the bond of fellowship we share. There are many of our friends who need to be intro- duced to our Shrine/Mason family. What greater blessing can we share with a friend than to call him brother. What greater joy can we spread than to introduce them to the boys and girls of our Special Olympics and our amazing hospitals. If each of us would find one friend and make him a brother the “Good Work” of our prom- ised commitment would be a fulfillment of what it means to be a “Man Good and True.” Peace, Hugh W. As you know, due to cir-cumstances beyond our con-trol, the Shrine Circus wascancelled this past month. Thisdoes not minimize the effortput forth. A BIG tip of the Fezto Circus Director IllustriousSir Dennis Gable. This is not aone week responsibility, ittakes months and months ofplanning and scheduling bymany volunteers, who I want toget a shout out to. The Zenobia Sportsmen’s

Extravaganza is underway. It isheaded up by Noble Ben Cro-ley and his committee. Onceagain, this is not a one week re-sponsibility. It takes a lot oftime and many hands to makeit work.
