FIRST COMMUNION ON SUNDAY, MAY 25TH! What better way to celebrate the Infant King than by bringing

more children to his Eucharistic table!

SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR INSTITUTE SEMINARIANS: NEXT SUNDAY, MAY 4

Twice a year we kindly ask your help to support seminarians of the Institute of Christ the King—your future priests. Our international seminary, located in Gricigliano, near Florence, Italy, provides priestly formation for about 70 seminarians - not to mention the other 20 who work and study in our worldwide apostolates because the seminary building is not large enough to accommodate them all! The cost of maintaining the seminary and of making new rooms to accommodate our increasing number of seminarians alone is quite high. Many seminarians cannot afford the modest tuition fee on their own. May God bless you for your generosity toward His future priests on Good Shepherd Sunday, May 4!

Bacqué, Apostolic Nuncio Emeritus to the Netherlands. Archbishop Bacqué will offer solemn Pontifical Mass at10:00am on this day. Afterwards all are welcome for the reception, which will be catered so that the mothers do not have any extra work on their special day. Sursum Corda: calling all Young Adults! July 25-28, 2014

Sursum Corda is a nationwide initiative to foster the spiritual lives of the young adults in the apostolates of the Institute of Christ the King. For the fourth year in a row, Sursum Corda is offering a social and spiritual weekend for young people ages 18 and up, July 25-28, 2014. The event will be held on the beautiful grounds of Mundelein Seminary just north of Chicago, Illinois. Canon Aaron Huberfeld, Rector of St. Mary’s Oratory in Wausau, will be the chaplain for the camp, and several other canons are sure to be there as well. The program includes daily Mass, prayer in common and opportunity for confession, faith formation classes and discussions, and other social activities for young men and women. The weekend begins with check-in at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 25 at Mundelein and will end on Monday, July 28 at 12:00 PM. Please register online at www.institute-christ-king.org. The cost is $250 per person, payable by check made out and sent to: Institute of Christ the King, 6415 S. Woodlawn Ave., Chicago, IL 60637-3817. Please also visit institute-christ-king.org to see pictures from last year’s Sursum Corda weekend, which was a tremendous success.

Choir Camp Aug. 18-23, 2014 The Institute’s 5th Annual Summer Choir Camp will take place August 18-23 this year, at the Mount St. Joseph Retreat House in the beautiful hills of Maple Mount, Kentucky. Registration is now open. Children from all apostolates are invited to take advantage of this fun and intensive immersion in Sacred Music. As in previous years, a canon of the Institute will offer daily Mass and be available throughout the week for confession. The camp’s daily routine includes instruction in vocal technique, Gregorian chant, Latin, music theory, as well as Rosary walks, many active sports and performance opportunities. As space is limited we encourage you to register as soon as possible.
