Exclusive Pitch Sessions The Bangalore warehouse hosted
Zachariah Ninan - Manager, Development, Sarish Paul - Sr Manager,
P&SI & Chief of Staff, MD's Office and Savitha Siddappa Rajappa - Associate
Manager, Process, Corporate Function from Allstate Solutions on 13th April and
interacted with 3 start-ups in the insurance sector. The session included an interesting round of brainstorming, that
brought out areas of possible collaboration, in the future.
As part of Accenture’s Hong Kong Team’s FinTech Innovation Lab
Asia-Pacific Program, Rosie Hampson - Program Lead visited the Bangalore
Warehouse on 2nd May and interacted with 13 Indian Startups in the
Banking and Fintech Space.
Unilever Africa IT Team visited ETS Bangalore on 18th April and met 3 start-ups in the RetailTech Space, taking the opportunity for collaborative business connects. Stakeholders were happy to meet relevant start-ups working in the areas of Chatbots, IOT & Machine Learning, that paved the way for solving solutions that were of priority to Unilever.
Sunil Kunte - President, FMR India and team visited the Bangalore Warehouse on 29th May to discuss deepening engagement with NASSCOM under NIPP. They interacted with 4 start-ups with solutions to showcase in the Financial Services sector.

Societe Generale's Innovation Team visited the Bangalore Warehouse on
4th June. The team interacted with 4 curated and shortlisted start-ups
working in the fields of Automation, Analytics and AI. Both parties
enthusiastically participated in discussions to solve pressing innovation
needs and on how to build future collaborations to solve the same.
Kieran J White - Sr. Manager, Customer Experience & Channel Strategy, Accenture Australia, visited the Bangalore Warehouse on 25th June. He interacted with 3 start-ups working in Retail Banking space, to discuss solutions related to E-KYC, Customer Experience Platform and Digital Banking Platform. The aim of the session was to explore synergies and collaboration opportunities between Accenture & the startups.

NIPP supported UpStart: Starting Up Right by PayU on 28th April in Kolkata, Upstart: Funding ka Funda on 5th May in Hyderabad and UpStart: Designing for Startups on 23rd June in Pune. The events received an overwhelming response
through the legal knowledge shared and discussed by the participants and speakers, alike. The workshops tackled topics right from starting a company and
protecting its stakeholders to intellectual properties. The attendees included Raj Lakhotia - DilSeWill, Hari Balasubramanian – Member, Indian Angel Network &
IvyCap and Saahil Wadhwa - Easy Daftar, along with start-ups from the cities that stole the show. PayU was happy with impact of the workshops, with special
emphasis on real time key influencers being involved.

CodeUp, a tech event hosted by PayU and NASSCOM took place on 21st April at the Kochi Warehouse. The speakers in the session were Arun Augustine - Co-Founder and CEO, Messengerify, Shiju Varghese - Independent Technology Consultant, Rinish K N - CTO, RapidValue and Suresh Balasubramanian, Founder and CEO/CTO, ExpressBase Systems. The topics discussed included Cloud Native Application Architecture and how it lets developers use the platform for abstracting away from underlying infrastructure dependencies. The speakers also talked about how the Native Cloud Application program is designed specifically for cloud computing architecture.

As part of the third edition of the Societe Generale Global Solution Centre’s (SG GSC) cohort, a 10-week accelerator program has successfully been running, with ongoing assistance from the NIPP initiative. The Catalyst 2018 Roadshow was organised on 29th June by Societe Generale and hosted by NASSCOM, at the Bangalore Warehouse. As a highlight of the event, the start-ups had the opportunity to discuss current business use cases with SG GSC’s experienced subject matter experts.

A collaborative event was conducted on 12th June in Chennai. The key speaker was Pradeep Kumar - Paypal and the primary focus of the session was to cover multiple use cases and capture relevant algorithms. The startups understood the complete cycle of creating, deploying, evaluating and improving a Machine Learning model. The session also included what one can do to start contributing to open source Machine Learning libraries.

A knowledge sharing session was conducted with Citi Bank on 9th May, in Chennai. The key speakers included Gobinath Pathmanathan - Vice President, Citibank, Karthik Pillai and Diviyan Sampath. As many as 8 start-ups participated in the session to understand the basics of funding and expectations from investors.

Payoneer - GST Webinar on Print-on-Demand BusinessA webinar on GST's impact on Print on Demand Business was organised by Payoneer and Teespring, with the support of 10,000 Startups, on 15th May. The webinar attracted participants from around the country, as they contributed to exciting discussions on the topic with many key takeaways being outlined, during the session.

InnoTrek 2018
InnoTrek 2018 was organized for a week from 29th April to 5th May, including a daylong conference. The keynote speakers were Tim Draper - Founder, Draper Associates, Keith Krach - Chairman of the Board, DocuSign and Done Loeb - VP Corporate Development & Strategy, Techstars. The event received a significant turnout with 350+ applications & 40 deep tech start-ups with 4 campus visits and 3 accelerator visits being organized. The 4 tech campuses visited included Google Developers Launchpad Accelerator, NetApp, Unity and NVidia along with 3 accelerator visits to Thoughts Works, Plug and Play & FalconX.
Investor Connects amounted to 36 sessions, in all, with participation from investors like Nexus Venture Partners, Storm Ventures & Sand Hill Angels. In addition, 45 Enterprise Connect sessions were organised, across 4 days. During the span of the event, over 38 InnoTrek start-ups pitched to 50+ participants from the Plug and Play community, including vertical heads from enterprises like TechM, Suzuki, Sony, Mphasis & British Telecom.
Virtual Payments Roundtable
A thought provoking discussion was conducted at the Virtual Payments Roundtable in the 10,000 Startups warehouse, Kolkata, on 25th April. The key points raised and discussed included security, credit worthiness and ease of transactions. Key participants present were Kotak, IBM and Camellia. The companies were enthusiastic to interact with 3 Fintech startups, Findvise, OneWalletHub and MPokket. The roundtable resulted in actionable takeaways on setting and enhancing virtual payments benchmarks in the industry, academia and corporates.
Open Innovation Roundtable at GCC Conclave
Open Innovation Roundtable was organised at GCC Conclave on 27th April in Mumbai. The session was exclusively conducted for GCC leaders who were key open innovation practitioners & also champions in the Indian and global ecosystem. The session was moderated by Bala Girisaballa – President, Techstars, and focused on the topic of Winning with Open Innovation - How to progress from PoCs to Deployments. The discussion was followed by Elevator pitches by 9 Start-ups from different parts of the country, including a showcase of their respective innovations.
NIPP & 10,000 Startups partnered with the Retailers Association of India (RAI) for ReTechCon 2018 on 12th & 13th June, in Mumbai. K.S. Viswanathan - VP Industry Initiatives, NASSCOM, addressed the audience at #ReTechCon, sharing his views on The Future of Retail and how NASSCOM has been supporting innovation in the Retail Sector.
Additionally, he moderated a panel discussion on AI in Retail. The event also included the ReTech Startup Awards. Top startups (30+) in the field of Retail were identified by the selection committee, with K S Viswanathan being a part of the esteemed jury, out of which three startups were awarded in front of the Retail community.
Among these, a special showcase zone was provided for Retail Startups such as AskSid.ai, ShopR360 and Techforce.ai at the 10,000 Startups Product Showcase Zone at #ReTechCon 2018.

Data Security Council of India (DSCI) Workshop
NIPP along with the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) organised a Use Case Clearing House (UCCH) on 14th & 15th June, in the Bangalore Warehouse. The platform brought together researchers, entrepreneurs, solution providers, users and policy makers for brainstorming on various Use Cases, their solutions, Designing and Prototyping. The workshop achieved a positive outcome, overall, with technology solutions for the use cases being designed based on specific considerations from the session.
Key focus areas for the event included:• Digitization and Innovation: Growing Liabilities & Obligations of Privacy Landscape• Technology Modelling of the Subject Matters of Privacy• Scenarios of Privacy Implementations and Ramifications• Use case Identification, Formalization & Finalization• Critical Examination of Identified Use Cases
We partnered with Mint as a knowledge partner for the annual Mint Fintech Summit on 26th June in Bangalore. We supported Mint in identifying start-ups that had disruptive and transformative solutions for the BFSI sector. The start-ups NIRA finance, Toolyt and RadiiusCorp were selected among the finalists that participated at the pitch session during the event.

The excitement of the NIPP Blockchain Challenge continues as teams are being shortlisted for the 1st round, from a pool of 1500+ registrations! Due to the special prizes in store for Fintech (sponsored by Fidelity Investments FMR), Banking (sponsored by ICICI Bank) & the Digital Records & Regulatory Compliance tracks, applications for these tracks remain open until 22nd July. A six-city workshop on Blockchain Technologies was organized with the support of our Knowledge Partner - IBM, from 23rd May to 2nd June.
The workshop was conducted by Mani Madhukar - Architect & Developer Engineer, IBM India. It received a great response across all regions, with over 300 developers and Blockchain enthusiasts attending the sessions. Out of the attendees, 66% were developers, which implied that we were able to reach the right audience. Teams then geared up for the Pre-hackathons which were conducted across 3 cities - Bangalore and Hyderabad on 6th July and, Gurgaon on 7th July. The pre-hackathon participants were given the chance to get insider insights & tips from industry experts and valuable one-on-one mentoring sessions, dedicated to improving their final submissions.
Next in store is a webinar on Digital Records & Regulatory Compliance, to be conducted by LTI on 20th July, followed by the hackathon finale on 28th & 29th July, at the Bangalore Warehouse.
