Once again the MV Women’s club will be awarding scholarships to a Deane Home graduating senior(s) of MVHS. The scholarships will be awarded to outstanding senior(s) with a GPA of 2.5, or above, who plan to attend a technical school, community college, college or university. The student must be residing in the Deane Homes at the time of application. Interested seniors should obtain an application and essay outline from the MVHS counselor’s office. All questions regarding scholarships may be directed to Cindy MacDonald...949-837-2132.

M.V. Women’s Club ~ ―Deane Home Cookbook‖ Don’t delay, submit your recipe today!... The Women’s Club is currently compiling recipes to be published as the “Deane Home Cookbook”. This cookbook will be one of the many fundraisers that help support scholar-

ships and other philanthropic awards given to students and our neighboring schools. To add a recipe online, go to www2.typesave.com, type your name as the contributor, the log in: mvwc and the password is: g3zw7. Then click on the side bar “add a recipe”. Enter the details and preview, spell check and submit. It’s easier than it sounds, but if you prefer you may fax your recipes to 949-916-5630 or submit them to the club office and the Wom-en’s Club will pick them up and input your recipe for you!. M.V. Women’s Club ~ ―Crime Prevention‖ Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 8 –9 pm Did you know that people who attend crime awareness seminars are 75% less

likely to be the victim of a violent crime? This fast paced, entertaining and memorable program is one hour in length and teaches the essentials on how to survive crime in today’s world. The speakers are professional, comic entertainers with extraordinary presentation skills who are experts in the field of crime prevention and safety. Bring your spouse, high school teen and friends to this one hour enjoyable and informative seminar and take away knowledge and the tools needed to ensure your personal safety. Due to subject matter, this event may not be suitable for young children. The Women’s Club information is available on MVSRC web site and click on “Women’s Club” .

The Club’s web site provides a variety of information, ie; the cost to rent the club for parties, pool parties, events and activities going on at the club, Board meetings dates

and availability to see meeting minutes current and archived, pool rules, guest policy, special an-nouncements, ie; pool/spa closure, you may read the associations CC&R’s and By-Laws, the MVSRC Newsletter also archives previous publications for your convenience. The “Useful Link” navigation button when selected is a page of city phone numbers and a link to their web site!

Our “Business to Business” section, added to the web site last year will continue but under the new name of “Neighbor 2 Neighbor”. The N2N Classifieds is divided into two types of advertisement;

First on our web site; homeowner’s who have a business, providing a service or product for profit ie; handyman service, roof repair, Avon, Babysitting Services, etc., will be required to advertise on our web site. Included with the web site advertisement is a small statement regarding their service or product in the N2N written section of the newsletter, as shown above, includes an automatic link to their business information, ie; business card / flyer or both on the web site. There is a minimal charge for web site advertising.

The second area; is designed for homeowner’s selling or giving away personal items, ie; camera for sell, car for sell, free door that fits Chanteclair model. This type of ad will appear in the N2N newsletter writ-ten section only. There is no charge for this advertisement. Both types of advertisement will be included in appropriate email blast sent out by the club, but is not guaranteed.

New by summer, a new navigational button; “Frequently Asked Questions “, on our web site. Consisting of the most frequently asked questions we receive. It’s not only informative, but sometimes a bit humorous too!

To get up to the date news and reminders, don’t forget to register your email address, via emailing Sue or complete the form available in the club office. That’s all there is to it!

and of course a visit from the Easter Bunny. This event will take place at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center / Oso Viejo Park on the Village Green.

Election Information ~ Board of Directors 2011-2012

The ballots for this years Board of Directors will be mailed out to all homeowners in good standing by May 1, 2011. The ballots must be filled out exactly as stated on the ballot form. Failure to fill them out properly will nullify the vote. Remember, only one vote per candidate selected, you cannot give all 5 votes to one candidate. The results will be announced at the Club’s Annual meeting held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the Clubhouse

at which time the ballots will be verified and the votes will be counted by a voting inspector. Our annual election of Board members, in accordance with our governing documents, requires a majority of membership participation in the election process. As a “Thank You” for participating in this process, two drawings will be held, each drawing will be for a $150 Gift Card and will be awarded to participating Deane Homeowners. In order to be part of the drawing, you need to be a homeowner in good standing, follow proper ballot procedures, and submit your ballot via mail or place it in the ballot box located in the club office by 1:00 pm on June 4, 2011. If you are interested in becoming a Board member for 2011-2012, please fill out an application and submit it to the office by April 15, 2011. BOD applications are available in the club office or on the web site, click on “Announcements” and download the application. For more information call the office at 837-4070.
